LUA variable/function to change time of the day

Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to change time of the day through lua action/globalevents/raids scripts, without recompiling the source code. (TFS 8.0 branch engine)

If its possible what functions does it use, can it be also used to change the color of the day/night light?
(Can we insert into getFormattedWorldTime?)

Could this be implemented from client level to override WordTime day/night cycles and take light from client's system clock?
