Merge two items.otb

Basically what I want to achieve is to update my old items.otb with new items from another items.otb file. Is there any way to merge both and just add the unexisted items to the old one.

afaik you'll have to compile new spr & dat files with the new items & load your old items.otb in itemeditor with the newly compiled spr & dat. Click add missing items then save it.
Just make sure to backup your old items.otb

I have done that but when I do that some of the items become incompatible with a map I am trying to import.
