Messenger bot with status/players online etc.

Hello forums,

I'm in need of a bot which would show the server status and players online on messenger like (mainly) polish gadu-gadu or MSN, and how to setup something like that. I'm completely fresh to stuff like this so I would appreciate a step by step guide. Thanx in advance ;)
