Complaint One domain per server advertising thread

Can we discuss how weird a rule it is that only one thread is allowed to be active per server domain?

Example user flow, where it's absolutely terrible:

  • Brand A is known from a real map low-rate server;
  • Brand A decides to run an evolution high-rate server;
  • Brand A uses a proper multiworld setup, where one domain supports both servers;
  • Brand A can't advertise TWO DIFFERENT SERVERS on Otland, because they have the same domain;

There can be two different servers, with completely different in-game systems, maps, rates, clients, developers, and essentially everything, with the only connection between them being a domain; yet, they are counted as one for an unknown reason.

How can we still be shackled to a "one-domain, one-thread" rule in 2025 when multiworld setups are the norm?

Or is the intention to require server owners to purchase a new domain that redirects to the main one, just to circumvent the rules?

Moving your thread as complain. Yeah, I will do +1 for your case. As long as its separate worlds why not. But intentions of this rule is to prevent xx same server threads you know.

I'm aware that some servers may abuse this, spamming each thread to flood the recently active threads with their servers, but it's a case now anyway, just on different domains.

I don't see any rules about domain names. The relevant rule says:
You can only have one active thread per server (if you use multi-world system, all servers must be advertise in one thread)

I see... When my warning was issued, I received that message (in fact, the user quoted the rule, but I remembered his message, not the rule itself). Anyway, the core of the problem still exists, even if it's not the domain itself but the server name or whatever (as the rule seems to be a little bit unclear).

The current rule doesn't prevent you from advertising multiple servers under one brand or a multi-world server, it simply requires that you do so in a single thread. May not be ideal and I'll wait to see comments but it's a current rule based on previous issues we've seen where (in many instances) there were identical servers opened in EU and US and would have separate threads.
