Otland staff

If you mean that the staff does not help on every thread in the support board it is due to that not being their job, this is a community where anyone can help and sometimes someone might not have the answer people are looking for.
They are no customer service for everyone who has a problem with their OT as that would take way to much time.
 
Why do you think they (and we) are obliged to help leechers who does not contributes with the community? Nobody here is your teacher or anything to fix all the bugs you have in your server.
Half of your questions are already answered in the forum and you can't even google it or try to solve it yourself...

Just a tip: If you don't know how to do something, you can try search it, you probably will found something similar.

What happened?
Our newest staff member has been here on otland for about 7 years. Most of us arent quite as engaged in the tibia community any longer, but we stick around and do our jobs.
By the way: moved this thread away from opentibia -> support to community chatboards -> chitchat instead.

You might be mixing staff with support team. Although I wouldn't disagree with them also being staff members. Several support team members has been demoted due to inactivity. Which explains their absence in activity? :)

We are not paid for our position in this community, so none of us are forced to answer or post in any thread.

Support team members will eventually get demoted if they stop helping people out, as it is why they got the position.

Moderators are not part of the support team, although we aid them and wants to do whats best for the community. What we do is manage reports and moderate the community. This does not mean post stuff in threads.

The main job of admins is to keep this forum online, forum administration such as user & group management. Although I tend to see @Mark quite active in the Premium Boards support forum.

i answer things that interest me or that i can solve quickly, since i'm not here as often as i used to be (literally used to sit here all day trying to help people)
usually 0.x isn't an interest to me nor something that i can test anymore since i only have a 1.3 test server for myself
we aren't forced to reply to every thread just because we're support team (which is what you're talking about, not staff in general)

OTS owners focus on thier servers and most of them don't want to help.

Staff have nothing to do with this.
You would see everyone help eachother more often, when people would actually want to learn anything rather than wait till work will be done by someone else.

Most of the staff (as in mods) activity is invisible to the regular user, so you might not know how active they are, try reporting a thread or a post that goes against the rules and watch how fast they act.
