Tekkit is bukkit at it's core, in all honestly I would stick to the already mature bukkit. Tekkit depends on bukkit on matter of code, specially when bukkit makes a big code update!

Hm well tekkit is a bunch of mod thrown together where you like build stuff e.g machines etc, it's fun to play and imo I think it's more fun than normal MC. Much more things to do xd
