its not bad ^^ i was mapping maybe not even so good some time ago but just make it not so square and it will be good

It's always good to have a map in mind, but it seems like the game you used to play, "Lufia" or whatever it was called, didn't have the sprites to make it any less square. So you can always improve it and make it like that map, but better. Anyway, you really should remove the shade, it's hard to see anything..
