Suggestion Random chat

I'd like to propose the addition of a new board where the rules are more loose in the sense of offtopic and the liking, insults should not be ok ofc. I think this would be a good idea because people would stick to that board with the less serious posts and threads instead of the other boards where offtopic isn't looked that kindly onto by mods. Can't really think about arguments atm so give a quick look to this thread Random chat

So Chit Chat is the equivalent to random board? I'd like to get a confirmation from a staff member on that. If I recall correctly LATE made a thread about my birthday in Chit Chat when it wasn't my birthday and we started joking in the thread, then Bogart came and removed offtopic stuff. If this was a random board it would have remained. I'd like a clear answer from a higher staff member.

Well, there's still people that are underage and you guys were using inappropriate language, I don't actually mind a lot about posts like that from chit chat unless they're reported, but since you guys were using that language I had to delete it.

Inappropriate language? Please quote the posts again. We might have posted things which had a sexual undertone but will a kid of 10 get it? Why do we have a sexy guys and girls thread left undeleted in that case together with a lot of other threads/posts with nice curse words, naughty f words? Since when did you guys become this strict with rules and things being appropriate with ages?

Btw, you stated you deleted the posts because of off topic if I remember correctly as well, see why I get confused?...

Can't be hard to open up a new section imo, and if people don't like it then don't use it,.. plain simple.

Just use the Chit-Chat board, if that isn't free enough use the Chat Room, if that isn't free enough then you're talking about something that shouldnt be spoken in this board, simple as that

If let's say I open a thread about monkeys, there is little response then some random guy comes and changes the subject to Torres, the thread gets really active and the topic starter doesn't mind at all, he joins. Now this would be considered off topic, no? with a random board you wouldn't start deleting stuff for off topic and instead let the discussions continue. This could be done in IRC but it's dead and things aren't really saved either so everyone can read or continue on. You would probably suggest me to create a new thread for Torres instead but thing is that the best stuff is spontaneous and comes in the moment, the new thread would get little to no attention. Maybe the chit chat works this way but then the moderators need to be informed of this as well the members because it's obviously unclear.

I'm not talking about allowing pornography, extreme racism, mutilation etc. I'm talking of a board where you can joke a little more freely and you can go into the moment without worrying about everything being deleted in 10-30 minutes. See Bogart's actions as an example, I joked a bit about things with a sexual undertone and it was flagged as inappropriate language? Scarlet Ayleid, please quote my posts in that thread. As I said earlier; maybe this isn't a problem really, maybe there's just a problem with the communication, everyone maybe aren't on the same page of the rules and there's too much left to every moderator to interpret. This particular action seems very strict compared to other things I see pass, things which moderators should have seen because they're usually posting in the thread themselves, so don't bring up the "report it then" card. I cannot link any specific examples but any regular browser would have noticed.

In your random board I'd consider offtopic the same as in the chit-chat board.

Why so complicated about this? In my opinion going a bit offtopic in Chit-chat shouldn't be a problem to begin with, no need for a whole new board where off-topic is allowed...
