It's not as easy as creating new server list website. How are you going to advertise your site? Why do you think that server owners who spent hundreds (or even more) of dollars to promote their servers, will just move to yours and spend money on something that is getting 5% views of otservlist? Do you have any plans or just "I'll make new site and it will work straight away!"?

Create fake accounts and characters (now you can parcel and transfer money to them), every few minutes (crontab) run PHP script that will add EXP, change items, add deaths, maybe even change outfit once in a while. Then add these characters to this spoof system.

Good luck telling apart fake and real players.

You're a global moderator now (I don't know if you were one in 2020), so you are in a great spot to answer the question, I guess.

Since Otland's otservlist links are do-follow and pass their authority, it is either great friendship or great business—either way, the output is a monopolized market.
It probably works very well with the idea of "giving back to the community to build OpenTibia together instead of destroying it" and not being "greedy individuals," as @Mark wrote in one of his private messages on Jan 3, 2015, to @STiX on Otland.
