The lag needs to be fixed. If I'm connecting from Ireland with 240 MBit fiber I should not have 250 ping to sweden.

Can't really understand the reason why it lags. How do you know that you have 250 ping to the server. I hope you didn't measure with the ingame command "!ping" since it doesn't work properly, sometimes you can have negative ping and vice versa.

Just tested my ping to a server hosted in Dublin, via command prompt (Win 8) which resulted in an average ping of 55 ms.

If you would like to try your ping to our Pokémon server, try this:

Code:

1. Winkey + R
2. Write "CMD"
3. Write "ping pokemon.no-ip.org"

It should automatically render the average ping over 4 measurements. What is your average ping to the server? It does also render the maximum and minimum measurements to the server.

I can't ping in command prompt because you have DDOS protection on.

Man am I the only one who find it too difficult to lvl up. Since poke don't have level (only base evo lvl) so you end up with a lvl20 thing that need 70 level; to evolve...and you cant grind anything with it because it only have 3 stupid useless move and killing rattata til lvl 80 would take 2 years. I mean people only lvl with aoe + fishing but it should not be like that. Anyway that's the way I see it.

To be honest fishing is only good at higher level fishing, which takes a very long time to get.

I get way more experience at Charizards or Meganiums than fishing, and it's much more fun than just spamming moves til your pokemon dies, heal at nurse and repeat.

Plus there are lots of guys who like to block you when fishing in saffron , so you might die.

i gave it another try these last days and you are right not only the same bugs are still up but leveling is so boring and very hard

this should be a test server it should be easier

Strange, however I don't think DDOS should block you from pinging me.

I will have a thought about it (the exp. of Pokémons), which means I will talk to some of the test players tomorrow, it's added to the todo-list at the moment. Thank you for your patience.

The protection stops any kind of communication on certain ports. The ports that command prompt pings across are included. However pinging from cmd prompt or not, myself and lots of players have a lot of lag. Ping constantly 300 or so, it makes the server a lot less fun(although still a lot of fun).

enjoyed the server but the exp curve is just bad. The way exp works anyway. Only a few pokemon worth getting because of that and I think it ruin the fun of having like 500 different pokemon but only 2-3 worth using.

You are completely sure it's the internet connection? It sounds so strange to me, however, I still think you've got lag, otherwise you wouldn't complain about it. I could try changing the host for a couple of days, to see if that solves the problem? Since I have absolutely no idea why my connection sometimes lag at short distances and sometimes not on longer ones.

I am 100% sure it is not my internet connection. I'v pinged servers all over the world and only in a few places such as Australia, Japan and the Antartic does my ping go that high.

I have zero lag when playing other games such as BF4, Dota 2 or CSGO, on Mainland Europe servers I'll usually have about 30-50 latency there, for Scandinavia generally 60-85.

If it is possible could you please try and alternative host?

I dont know why you keep debating the lag topic. Most of this thread participants complained about lag, it is you. Not only Europe is a bad location for a pokemon server because of distance the main issue might be you needing a dedicated connection. A home ISP is not enough. Most people think that with a gaming PC is ok. Actually ot servers dont require too much power, they need a dedicated connection.

Ireland, so my ping should be less than 100. It's generally around 150-225 with spikes to 350+

Is the host definitely. I used to play classicus (germany) with 180 and i am from the caribbean. In this server i have 350+ with spikes of 600
