Lua Talking Through Walls

First off, I would like to thank you for taking a look at my post.

Now, could anyone give me a simplified version of how to make it so you and NPCS can't talk to each other through walls?

It seems that when you have multiple small shops next to one another and you say hi, then all the NPCs start chatting up a storm. I would, however, like you still to be able to talk through windows, door, and fences... just not full blown walls.

I'm not that good at scripting but maybe in the talkaction or npc script you can add one of the commands from a rune that says "Can't cast through walls"

Well, I tried something like that, but as you could probably figure - it errored.

Anyone else have the slightest idea?
