Hello everyone!
I'm really new to the pixel art and sprites thing.

I enjoy doing it in my (rare) free time and I wish I could work on it more.

Anyway, here are some of my small works (chronological order),
beginning with my first sprite:

I hope you enjoy, and also, please give me some tips and criticise my pixels!

Thank you!

cool squirrel! :D

on the other sprites i suggest u read some tutorials about shading and AA. the outlines look pretty good byt the shading needs some serious work imo! keep working and enjoy making the sprites and i know you'll improve a lot! :)

Good luck!

Glad to see more users deciding to try pixel art!
You have really good beginning. I can't give any specific tips. That latest axe is one of best weapons there. Keep experimenting with shapes and colors!
I'm sure you'll go better with every sprite made.

I tried to follow some advice, though I think it needs more colors:

you are getting there, i can see shades and light, but now what you need to do is to know exactly where to add the shades and lights, for example in that sword, both blades has the same color of light, but the light source should light one blade more than the other, so one blade should be brighter than the other, i hope i explain myself :p

The outline is decent! good job.
Work a bit more with the shading, you already improved alot.
But shading is probably what you are going to hear alot from the forum :)
Keep it up!

Well, let's see:

Test yourself by trying to shade it with more colors instead of 3-4, it's tricky but you'll see big improvements.

I really like our Otland-spriting community. People are quite active and chase for improvements here ;)

Latest axe, I can't say anything wrong about it, good job.
I might give a tip for handles - on middle lightest line, neighbours darkers, and I often end at bottom with some shape, squary or roundy.

Amulet - great lineart, but it need more work with coloring. At first, If items are really bright, change their outline to lighter. Keep there special attention to AA too.

That's all for now, I look forward for more.

Not the be a mood-killer.
That glove there is awesome! - Did you trace though?
I mean it's a very sudden "big-scale" improvement!
So if you made this from scratch without reference you sir are amazing!
Keep it up! :D
