I'm thinking about playing around with TFS. I'd like to run 8.0 game protocol. What is the state of the art stack for it? I've seen downgrade by nekiro but its from 2022, so it is super outdated, is there even any sweet starting point?

After reading through few topics I consider you @Gesior.pl an domain expert, therefore if that's possible, I'd like to hear from you, thanks.

There is no state of the art stack for it. The best downgrade server is most likely TVP, until sarah has updated githup repo for her local version she has been working on for a coupl years at least... but I don't know which downgrades actually support your desired protocol version of 8.0.

Seem like its wild west out here... Well what's the difference for end user whether it is 800 or 860 at the end normal players will not go and look through packets... and everybody loves mounts anywyay... Am i right or missing something?

For me personally, I’ve noticed that people leave 8.0 OTs much quicker than 8.60 OTs.
7.x and 8.0 OTs usually last around 2-4 weeks before they die.
With 8.60, the server can still die after a few weeks, but it can also last for months or even years.
And mounts are always welcome

But what is the real difference novadays between 8.0 and 8.6 if mostly everything can be backported..

8.0 also had hotkeys lol
