The end of all privacy and freedom?

The last 20 years there have been approved laws to srink our privacy down to zero, and we get fewer and fewer rights. The US got the patriot act (and several other acts) that allows companies to look over what you do on the Internet, the NSA can tap into any phone in the country, and you can be arrested without procecusion (if they suspect you for "terror").

EU got the data storage directive that states that all your mails, phone logs etc can be logged for like 5 years. The SWIFT deal (Thank you Obama...) allows them to get your banking data.

Well, I could be sitting here all day while the world slowly get converted into a farsistic police state without people noticing. As it's a slow long term process noone will ever no anything about it, but if we applied these laws (all at once) in the US in 1940 etc, it would turn into a civil war. And in Europe many revolted for their free rights. What do we see today? Nothing.

For the conspiricy folks, it complies with "Ultimate Illuminati Goal" (BTW: They probable changed name to "Club of Rome" like 30 years ago). Ever read 1984? The world becomes more and more like this.

Anyway, do you like what the world have become (and probable soon will be)?

In Norway economical crime is punished higher then murder is. And the new security means won't stop anything. In the US all criminals buy a blackberry and encrypt their traffic so the effect against the real problems are very limited. And the terrorists might as vel extend messages in "coded" spam posts on otland instead of emailing each other with the subject: "Hey, lets kill Obama".

If you want to solve the issues then you could for example:
Legalize drugs, god, it's said to finance 90% of organized crime. Look at Netherland and India (Cannabis is legal) or Portugal (all drugs are legal to use and sell), both countries report of POSITIVE effects. We're not in the 1930s anymore, and the hamp producers no longer makes the wool and other raw material producers go broke, you already got china for it (yes, thats the reason it was illigalized in the first place, back then almost noone knew that you could smoke it).

As far as I know, none of them lives in sweden (atleast not anymore). Carl Lundström is the only one that got money to pay the fine 8actually he can pay the entier thing), but they all refused it. They are taking this all the way to the high court.

I'm not mindless, its my opinion. The only illegal thing I do on my computer is downloading music and movies. I'm not doing it often and I'm 99% sure I won't get arrested for it.

Why do you care if someone read your MSN conversations or listen to your phone calls IF it won't get related to you in any way unless it's illegal?

If I have an embarrassing medical condition, am I doing something illegal? No, I'm not. But that doesn't mean that I want everybody to know about it. Everybody should have the right to privacy.

I've actually known that this has been going on.
As you all know, in America, the fourth of July was a week ago. I, myself, used the day as an excuse to party, not to celebrate my country's independence.
And if you think I'm wrong for doing that, consider this, first.

We celebrate the 4th of July (in the United States) because it marks the day of our independence from Great Britain. But why did we want independence from our mother nation?

So why not celebrate the fourth of July?

Well, politicly I'm a Laissez-faire liberalist. The purpose of the state is to protect us from violence and outside interfarence. Also the periode with lowest poority, hunger etc in Europe have always been in a liberal periode.

Countries rise with liberty, then turn farsistic until they revolt and die (or transform).
