Hello, im currently being GOD on a semi big Project. I wrote the Story, will be doing the Maps soon and Generally be the ingame Admin.

So Ive never been GOD before mostly GM or Tutor. Are there any General Tips or Tricks that you Wish you wouldve known before you Had a Major role in a Project or even ran one by yourself?

Thanks for Reading and stay healthy.

Do alpha or beta testings before opening. Players will find bugs as long they keep playing, so start from a low player base and see how far in they advance. Have a discord, it's crucial to organize your information. If you have a story or custom maps try to provide the more information you can, no one will guess where to go or what to do if it's not predictable.

Regards!

Structure your OT so it works with seasons or "wipes". Its only the big OT's with huge resources that create enough of a playerbase to never have to wipe as their content release rate can outpace that of the players completion rate. Its harder to move to a "seasonal" system halfway through a project. Be clear at the start that the project at some points will wipe under X circumstances eg: less then 10 active players over a month etc. 90% of all OT cycles go like this: Hype big pop, content completed nothing fresh, OT dies. If you use a wipe and seasonal system you can get past this issue by centering huge content releases around a wipe, you can also offer rewards for people who participated in the previous season (cosemtics, house decos etc). Worked well for my server over the years. Also in the modern OT era leveraging the use of streamers on twitch is the best marketing method.
