A project based on the most hardcore era of Tibia: a mix of versions 7.1 to 7.4.​

Global 7.x Concept​

The Old Project isn't just another OT; it’s a revival of Tibia’s most brutal and rewarding era. We are bringing back the mechanics that made the game legendary between versions 7.1 and 7.4. No skulls, no easy quests, rewards and hunts, just the raw Tibia as it was meant to be.

⚙️ Technical Foundation​

Our project is built upon the leaked 7.7 files downgraded. This ensures a rock-solid, stable, and "retail-like" performance. This is not a TVP-based server; we are using the real deal to provide the smoothest experience possible.

🗺️ The Map: 7.4 with a 7.1 Soul​

Original 7.4 Global Map with NO Ankrahmun and Port Hope. The entire environment uses 7.1 sprites to capture that classic dark atmosphere.

📦 Hardcore Quest System​

Forget modern quest logs. We’ve implemented the classic 7.1 loot system:

Daily Respawns: Quest chests act like normal containers. They respawn once a day, if you find it first, the loot is yours!
Storage Protection: To prevent abuse, we created a unique storage system. Once you take the reward, that chest will be empty for you forever, regardless of server restarts.
Authenticity: Chests can be moved around, but never destroyed or placed in backpacks.

⚔️ PVP & Punishment​

We are going back to the roots of the Pre-Skull Era:

No Skulls: Just like in 7.1, there are no white, red, or black skulls.
Death Limits: Freedom comes with a price. We have strict kill limits (Day/Week/Month). Exceeding them results in an automatic 15-day ban initially.

🎨 Sprites & Visuals​

We believe in immersion. While the world uses 7.1 environment sprites, we made one strategic exception: Items and Runes use 7.4 sprites.

⚖️ Unique Vocation Balance​

On The Old Project, a high-level mage isn't untouchable. We’ve redesigned the balance so that a dedicated Knight or Paladin who spends time training will be a nightmare. Even if you are dozens of levels lower, a well-trained warrior will make anyone run in fear!

🖥️ The Client: Authentic 7.1 Feel​

We developed a custom client that looks and behaves exactly like the 7.1 version.

  • Classic UI: The old buttons, the classic layout, and the original "Distance Walk" system for Paladins.
  • Modern Comfort: We added WASD movement support for better playability without breaking the immersion.
  • Original Hotkeys: Just like in the early 7.0 era were hotkeys was created, basic hotkeys are available.
  • The "Lag" Experience: We implemented a unique Intentional Lag System. To truly replicate the 2003 experience, you will feel those random, minor "stutters" that defined old-school Tibia. It’s not game-breaking, but it’s real. Tibia was "terrible", and we love it that way.

💰 Economy & RMT​

The economy in T.O.P is built to be scarce and rewarding. We believe that for an item to have meaning, it must be hard to obtain.

  • Low Drop Rates: Gold and item drops are significantly reduced. Every piece of equipment and every gold coin has real value. Finding a rare item is a life-changing event for your character.
  • Legalized RMT: We embrace the reality of player-to-player trading. Real Money Trading (RMT) is permitted through our official currency: TOP Coins.
  • Direct Trading: You can trade valuable items directly with other players via the client in exchange for TOP Coins, ensuring a safe and integrated market for those who want to profit from their hardcore grind.

What's the difference between the other retro 7.1 ots like febula

  • The "Lag" Experience: We implemented a unique Intentional Lag System. To truly replicate the 2003 experience, you will feel those random, minor "stutters" that defined old-school Tibia. It’s not game-breaking, but it’s real. Tibia was "terrible", and we love it that way.

Client Showoff

-The closest possible to 7.1 client. We decided to remove the Help button only. (Who needs help?) and implement the smart distance walk old school function
  • WASD option on/off
  • NO extra side panels
  • NO Mc's (bedmakers are welcome)
  • Embedded bot detection system implemented intelligently. You will not be automatically banned; instead, you will be added to a blacklist, and on a previously announced day all botters will be deleted.

Its not pretend to be a laggy gameplay experience, its not easy to explain with words, i will take some videos later about that functionallity.
 
imma make the same questions everyone does in this launches, hosted where?, item shop?, launch date aprox?
 
Only Premium Accounts will be sold on the website. Premium will be required for promotions, houses, and premium spells, just like in original Tibia nothing more. The server will initially be hosted in Miami with high DDoS protection; basic DDoS attacks such as Raw.exe won’t even scratch it.

If anything needs to be added later, it will be things like souvenirs, exclusive home decor, outfits etc

How are you going to reconcile the reality of no skulls with an automatic ban for killing people?
If you're getting attacked by a bunch of people (and you kill them all) will these kills count towards your ban or is that a separate kind of "kill" when you kill a character that attacked you first?

Also since it's hosted in Miami: are you going to do whatever the owner of Shadecores did with PoP routing/relay network/regional gateway? (idk)
I ended up averaging 60ms playing on their Miami-hosted servers.
I'm not playing on Project Fibula due to 120ms ping (like a bunch of other people that prefer to pvp on low ping) so having this implemented could give you a competitive edge.
 
Too bad this won't be hosted in Europe. Tibiantis has lost it's popularity and that means that there are loads of european players waiting for a high quality old school server with no ping. The players are up for grabs tbh
 
About the hosting we can deal with proxies, as i said we gonna start the host in miami + proxies, if its needed we will change the location with no data losses.

Nice question. The frag system works like in original Tibia: the player who deals the most damage is considered the killer. However, frag counting is not limited to a single player — if 2, 3, or 5 players are PKing together, the frag will count for everyone involved. In past servers, all worlds were PvP-Enforced; in ToP either, but with death-related restrictions.

As i mentioned before, host and ping will not be a problem since we have proxies nowadays. The host will not benefit any peoples by their country, we gonna try to bring the best experience for all. Check miracle for example, you have a good ping from any country you are in.

its has proven over and over that miami its the best middle spot for proxies, and wars between europe and latin america... good ping for both regions, im atm in Canada and its run smooth in miami servers

U should focus on 1 server atm, multiple servers just ruin the vibe of investing alot of time in it, also u should charge expensive for premms just like Tibiantis ot Medivia, it will keep the premm features only for the ones that grind like crazy or has money but not time to lvl, it will keep the balance between power gamers and money players

Lol in dat server ppl are still selling characters and money for irl money, caves are mined like crypto, its shit when poor people got free premm, they take the game like it was their business, its still a money driven game
