Hehe, but as the title says I am now offering my help as a hoster for a GOOD ot server.


Please understand that, I am not joining any projects like "oh hello you wanna host my server, its custom map and its 5 % done hehe" no, finished only. Could be realmaps but without bugs (vip stuff could be nice toooo :p) The money we get of donations, we'll share!!

Here's the information you need about my computer:

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bits
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo-processor T7250
Memory (Ram): 8 GB DDR2 SDRAM
HDD: 3 TB ( 3 Terra Bite = 3000GB )
Graffic Card: ASUS GEFORCE GTX280 1GB, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280, Memory Size: 1024MB, RAM: GDDR3 @ 512-bit.
Internet Connection: 100/100 Mbts

That may be ofcourse an answer for my computer, it was very very expensive but worth it.I am 26 years old, many other players has noticed it before "Oh come on, get a life, don't play tibia it's such a waste of time" But I just answer them "Just because I play tibia or host open tibia servers it doesn't mean I don't have a life. You never get too old of playing games".

The simplest reason why I wouldn't trust this person is that the Speedtest is a screenshot.
That means it can be false, and you don't need a screenshot because Speedtest provides you a direct forum link so theres no need to upload it.
And also if you check the screenshot you will se "Server: Tokyo" Didn't you say that you lived in the USA?

Oh come on, I didn't bother reading that, I just copied the screenshot and uploaded it at imageshack.us, not a big deal at all.

Since when Tokyo is less than 50 miles from USA? Someone has to be unbelievably stupid to believe in this whole offer.
 
He just wants to steal your server! Don't trust him!
 
Just check him if he's lieing or not, give him a eclipses realmap or something, see if he puts it on.. would be a option or if you don't believe him at all, that's up to you. ^^
 
Since when is it 5/11 2007 recently? Either you googled it, you simply uploaded it a year ago *not*.
 
Personaly, I don't trust hosters at all. Not even deticated servers, I mean how the hell do we know that they wont steal your server files? :eek:

My advice to you guys: Don't trust him or any other hoster!

@OP:

First of all, your postcount is 13, which takes away alot of your credibility, and makes you look like a mapstealing noob (even though you might not be one), i suggest you get a slightly higher postcount before trying to be a hoster.

Second of all, you include irrelevant information in your computer specs... i mean why do i need to know what graphics card you use? Its not like im gonna be playing Crysis on it, neh? And 3TB harddrive? Since when am i gonna use that? Am i gonna store porn on your computer? OT files takes up like 10MB tops, and the DB will take up about 10MB... so yeah, harddrive is irrelevant information (Unless you mention things like RPM and accesstime, which is relevant to overall read/write performance) since even a 700MB harddrive from 1994 could easilly store an OTserv.
(Also you made a spelling error, its "Terabyte" not "Terra Bite")

Thirdly, Vista? If it was a serious hosting computer it'd be using Windows 2003/2008, or atleast XP... Vista is one of the worst hosting OS's due to its affinity for draining system resources, thus its not a very good choice for a hosting computer.

So if i spend several weeks tracking the real tibia map to perfection, and spend several more weeks working on a server to make it all custom and stuff, and then ask you to host it, i get a GM? Nothing more? I dont get to make choices of what to do with MY server?...
You make it sound like people are GIVING you the server, not you HOSTING it as part of the staff, and honestly people will never go for that, they'll just take another host who actually HOSTS their server, not steals ownership of it.



Now my point is not to make you look like a noob, its to point out exactly why most people will shake their heads and ignore your post.
I suggest you change and improve the points mentioned, orelse you will never be hosting any server.

2. I personally tried to create a computer like that on dell.com.
(Says its incompatible with physical memory)

I'd say 8/10 chance hes gonna steal your stuff.

Wrong.

The reason why you couldnt do it on dell.com is because their motherboards is either of bad quality, or has been capped so that people in need of server computers (requiring 4+ GB of ram) will buy their more expensive servers.

There is quite a few motherboards supporting 8, and even 16GB of ram, that also supports Core 2 Duo.

If you dont believe me then just check any serious motherboard-selling site, they will have C2D motherboards supporting 8 and 16GB of ram, for example newegg:

Justin, you're totally wrong. Actually, that computer should also be working well, it's nothing wrong with the computer. I have 4GB Ram and the same processor like him, and I'll soon upgrade it to 8GB, and it supports it well. if you don't trust that, then I suggest you to search for a expert in those parts. I am a good programmer and know pretty much about computers.

But, I'm not trying to give him a bad reputation or something, noone of us knows yet if he's going to steal the server or not. It's up to you if you are willing to trust him, and if you do, post what happened here. Then we can also talk to a Mod to delete the thread and maybe even banish the user? Anyway, good luck Rewexx. And my advice is to you, don't steal servers, build your own.

Unbalanced? How?

I can agree that his OS isnt the best for hosting, but if he were to install Windows 2003/2008, or perhaps some linux distro like debian or freeBSD the comp would be excellent for hosting any server.

Other than that i see absolutely nothing wrong with his hardware specifications.
 
Did anyone try to google his ISP, or atleast what he think is his ISP from the speedtest? :)
