OtLand Update

Although most of you would have expected this to be the update to vBulletin 4, we are not quite there yet. We are still working on it, but we can not really estimate when it will be ready. However, we have been working on another smaller update which was just applied.

This update includes bug fixes, changes to the downloads board and changes to our staff. All the previous board moderators were promoted to global moderators, while two of our global moderators have resigned due to lack of time to help us make OtLand a great community.

The global moderators who resigned were Jester and Snel pUppie and we do like to thank them for their time they have been helping us.

The changes in the downloads board include a new board where data packs can be posted without executable files to reduce the risk of malicious software being posted there, and all unsupported distributions have been moved to a sub forum in the distributions board. If you are maintaining a distribution and you want it to be available in the distributions board, you can try to post it there and see if it will be approved but unless you have contributed a lot to OtLand it is not likely to be approved.

By the way, regarding the http://otland.net/f14/furys-new-body-competition-61188/. It is still open, and will remain open until we update to vBulletin 4.

Kind regards,
OtLand Staff.

Sound great!

Thanks for your time that you have been helping OTLand as moderators, Jester & Snel pUppie.

I like the changes and can't wait for vB 4 ;)

New sub-forum is not a good idea. You should have only stick 3 topics: 0.3.6 & 0.2.6 or latest, also link to SVN with all TFSs.
Wouldnt it beter?

Thanks 4 mods

Most of the distributions posted were TFS-based anyway, so the author can just repack it without executable files and post it as a data pack. This way we are reducing the risk that the one who posts the distribution includes a infected executable file. It is also better to reduce the amount of options of engines to use, then there is a higher chance that scripts found in scripting board will be compatible with the distribution.

Good job, I really think this update will reduce the risk of finding infected files in the download section.

Im not able to post or create a new thread in here:
OtLand > OpenTibia > Downloads > Distributions > Archived Distributions

Im not able to post or create a new thread in here:
OtLand > OpenTibia > Downloads > Distributions > Archived Distributions

Distributions which are no longer approved by OtLand are archived in this forum. We do not guarantee that the archived software is safe so keep that in mind when downloading.
Isn't that enough explanation to why you can't make new thread there?

Hopefully that'll fix (my opinion) about the lack of moderators :)
