Who's going to win the World Cup 2026? Would like to hear opinions. Unfortunately Chile didn't classified to the World Cup, anyways, it's a joy to see the matches. So, who do you think is going to Win the World Cup this year? I created a poll so you can vote for the current countries in competition. I created the thread at July 1st, right after Mexico - Ecuador match (this mean, that eliminated countries are not in the poll) and some of the options has two countries, in order to have every country registered on the poll (randomly paired them), I'll try to edit it later to only keep the round of 8 teams.world_cup_2026_status_after_mexico_ecuador.webp

France look the strongest. Argentina could be a huge threat again. Would have said Germany before the big upset from Paraguay. Spain always a contender but not seen them against a top team yet. England look inconsistent. Brazil look a little weak. Portugal/Norway have a minor shot. Belgium /USA etc no chance.

No Joachim, no trophy. Players are really good but there's nobody that can make an impact with such talents.
Brazil players cannot play together good vs stronger teams and play insane vs weaker ones. Every player wants to be a star and i doubt they respect the coach
Argentina/France in final, France wins this time
Spain/England 3rd place, England 3rd

wtf i voted for Argentina somehow xD

Any predictions on the upcoming matches? We have Paraguay vs France, Canada vs Morrocco, Portugal vs Spain, USA vs. Belgium, Brasil vs Norway, Mexico vs England, Argentina vs Egypt, and Switzerland vs Colombia. Or any player that's been calling your attention at the competition? For me Bouaddi he's an amazing talent.

Ancelotti is really good, and calm. I think Brazil weakness is at midfield, Paquetá is not doing well and Casemiro can fall against a strong physical demand. Besides that, they still have Neymar at bench, I think he's a hidden card in cases where Brazil have a draw and goes to extra time.

Spain always a contender but not seen them against a top team yet.

It seems that now is the time to show they're contenders winning against Portugal. But I think that Portugal might win this game. Recent game history shows that their matches usually end in 1-0 / 0-1, and their last game ended in penalties where Portugal won. According to this data, it seems that Portugal vs Spain will have extra time and is going to be a very balanced match.

Imagine if Egypt won, how many billions would FIFA lose because of betting.
Clear and dirty business.

3rd goal cancel decision for Egypt is actually good decision, there was foul
However, why does referee makes an instant VAR for argentina request, meanwhile Egypt had to complain for minutes about two situations and not get a single one is stupid. I do not care about the "foul/not foul" and the outcome, i rant about not being able to verify situation because of referee ego's.
Years pass by and FIFA stuck with this nonsense, other popular sports like volleyball, tennis have proper checking systems

This match showed that Argentina is on another level when behind.
Also coach of England needs to be fired. I am not sure what is he doing behind scenes with defense tactc when you make two changes and instantly WHOLE DEFENSE is not working properly for 30 minutes.

I agree about the England coach.
I strongly disagree regarding Argentinian squad, Its not that Argentina won it, England lost the match.

Well after all, i'm happy for Messi. He's 39 years old, and still dribbling, besides the history they have with Chile, I can't cheer a team that sings Oasis to their crowd, doesn't feel south american at all. Argentina did well, and defended really well at the end of the match leading to a well deserved victory.

About France vs. Spain, the midfield seems to be the key at this cup. Brazil had the same issue against Norway, if you don't have a strong physical midfield with quick passing, you won't be able to take advantage of your attacking players. Way better if they shoot outside the box.

England coach did the same they did with Mexico, expecting to have results. But Argentina already faced defensive blocks on qualifiers, against Paraguay, even Bolivia. Is different to play against a CONCACAF team than facing CONMEBOL. Argentina had a well deserved win, I have no issues with Argentina winning the world cup, what concerns me more is that Chile needs a coach asap and start being competitive so we can keep the rivarly alive, our football is taken by things outside the field and needs to improve.

Congratz to Spain who won the world cup. The amazing data is that Spain allowed only a single goal during world cup.

I found a really good channel that analyze the matches, I'll post the France vs. England one.

Still waiting for the Spain vs. Argentina, but at simple sight Spain hold the possession, duplicated the amount of effective passes and didn't allow Argentina to have the ball. Argentina did a really bad performance, and the foul to Curbasí was nasty. Also Argentina became the first finalist in World Cup history to complete the regular 90 minutes without registering a single shot.

Also a big congratz to those who voted Spain in the poll, I messed up by not showing up the names at the beginning of it.
Regards!
