World of Therran BETA
TIME: SUNDAY 15th NOVEMBER!
Welcome to the official BETA thread of Therran. During the period for the open beta there will be updates, bugfixes and balancing. It is currently unclear how long the BETA will be online since it all depends on how much things there is to do before we can officially go online.
Your job as a BETA tester is simply to enjoy our content. And if you find anything that seems off, or have an opinion on what could be improved then please share it with us. We want the game to be enjoyable for as many people as possible.
It is important to know that your characters will NOT be saved once the BETA ends, but that goes without saying.
Information:
- Starting level: 8
- Exp rate: 5x
- Skills: 1 skillpoint every level
- Magic level: 1 skillpoint every level
- Loot: 1x
Every class start with low skills, but get 10 skill points after completing the tutorial tower.
All classes will start with a complete leather set and an appropriate weapon, and once you advance through the Tutorial Tower then your gear will be upgraded.

Q: What is unique about this server?
A: That's a big question to answer. First off, the server is completely custom and based on the most stable distro as of now (TFS 1.0). The entire map is made by Samuro and Mackan, with a little help from a few other OtLand members. The server is a low-rated RPG server where players will mainly gain experience through quests and killing monsters. There are a lot of quests available to the players of every difficulty. Some are just simple chests with rewards in them and others are long journeys through the world. Basically what we aim for is to make every piece of the world interesting for some parts. Exploring and finding secrets is something we feel is a fun experience for the players.
The server has a lot of custom features such as woodcutting, adventure points, mashed together all skills into one (club, sword and axe is now just called melee fighting). Find a woodcutter's axe and start gather wood, I'm sure the Lumberjack Society of the Southern Outskirts are interested to hear what you may find.
A custom client (OTClient) with weather effects, complete sound for monsters and effects that is all adjustable in the audio options. Do you dislike the sound effects? Mute them! You can choose your own settings.
Q: What is this BETA for?
A: This is the last thing we must do before going online. Finely tune and polish everything. If we find that the mages are generally stronger than the other vocations during the beta then we will consider balancing it. We will fix all bugs that we encounter. Everything from a gamebreaking bug to a simple typo in the NPC dialogue. Monsters may be a bit too weak, or far too strong than they should be. Quest rewards may need adjusting.
And finally: We want to hear the opinion of the playerbase. What would you do to make the server better? Keep your feedback constructive.

BETA Contest!
The player who finds and reports most bugs during the BETA phase will be rewarded "The Famous Golden Bug" statue later on the real servers. We will keep track of the reports and have a list of known bugs that has already been reported.
For every valid report will you recieve a point, and the player with most points by the end of the BETA will be the one to recieve this statue.

- Dark199: 31 (Second)
- Summ: 14 (Third)
