Did you know that open-tibia is illegal? Cipsoft (creators of Tibia) haven't done anything about it yet. My question is, when do you think that Cipsoft will start to do something about it?

Open Tibia (Servers), often abbreviated as OT or OTS are Tibia game servers not hosted by CipSoft GmbH and are using open source technology created from scratch. They are illegal by the rules of Tibia and connecting to them using Cipsoft's Tibia client is illegal by law, however the Open Tibia servers can be legally used.

OpenTibia is not illegal, modifying the client with an IP changer is.

CipSoft will never care neither, just don't mind it.

CipSoft doesn't care much about OT's due to the reason OT pull new people, that after a while jump over to cipsoft because it's a more stable and serious game.
+ CipSoft keep good eyes on what happens in the OT community, for ideas to updates and so on...

The last years CipSoft have used sprites created from OT-people in their game.
Like the walls in Carlin, those came from a guy on Otland or similar site, he had the idea making the wood darken and poff, half a year later they were included in CipSoft's update...

To clarify, this guy came up with the idea and draw the changed the original sprites, and after a few months they appeared in Tibia's client.

They know that already and they always act like otservers never existed. Mail to them and with some luck they may explain why.

any proof? Afaik they draw own sprites. Except for fansite items which sprites come from people who want Cipsoft to use them.

The structure of the items is identical with cipsoft's own walls so it's obvious the base of the new item came from cipsoft xD
