Necronia - Discussion

100 gp/h = 2.4k/day = 16.1k/week = 72k/month = IMA BE RICH :D

on topic: looking great as always; i'm still following this although time is not on my side to do some betatesting atm :(

24x a day at computer to use bracelet
167x a week you are at computer to use bracelet
720x a month you are at computer to use bracelet and gain what you could have gained in 1-3 hours hunting instead.

Also, you are now Dead irl from massive sleep deprivation due to using the bracelet every hour on the hour as not to miss a potential profit by your logic.

Yeah that will be of great help. Thank you!

Then we better change this ring before someone dies of sleep deprivation :D

I'll post another set of images tonight and probably a news report on our website.

How is funding? Are you still in need of more donations? I want to see this online and not be held up over money.

It would be wise to have at least 3 months of hosting costs covered before launch. For a custom project like this, a single month of hosting is likely not enough to "test the waters" before determining whether or not it's worth pursuing further updates. It also won't be cheap keeping such a server online.

It is pretty well actually, that's one of the reasons that beta keys can be purchased during closed beta. Anyone who decides to join the beta, not just helps out by testing and being there, they also add to our pool of money that we're saving for the official release. I like to be positive about this, especially knowing that some people have made very generous offers towards the project in terms of funding, which I refused to accept until the server launches because I know we'll need the money more at that point.

We'll see how things roll out in the long run, but since I can't predict the future, like you said, we're doing the smart thing and saving up now.

Make the ring get a stack every hour up to 10 stacks, useable in a shorter time frame? :3

I already made it give 4 silver coins instead of 2, so that's up to 67200 bronze (672 silver) per week. Not willing to give more free money, and even this might be nerfed after some testing. It's not meant to be an item that you can literally live off of, just a handy gadget for mainland beginners, so to speak.

There should be a stream tonight by one of our testers taking a first look at some things in Conqueria, the capital of the mainland, so be sure to check that out if you're interested.

Enter the stream here, he will start rolling soon.

I watched the stream, so I gotta say I kind-of liked the client itself.
When the guy engaged in a fight, the ridiculous attack-speed made everything dead fast, it looked so unreal and easy to play.
Look-on objects being displayed on top of the screen would be pretty bad for me - maybe you can change it, I don't know, he looked onto some objects, most of them were type of X... - made me take a step away from the stream.
He didn't even know how to use some machine to transform something, sapphires I believe - beta, understandable.

I believe he was using claw weapons, which I always liked (played WoW few years ago), so big thumbs up for that.
He used some kind of weird spell that slashed screen and after thinking for a minute I couldn't realize what so important is a so big spell doing.

Shadowsong was in the Twitch chat answering questions, giving tips to Recklez, etc. Good guy.

Sure it's beta, but the game itself looked undone, easy... Maybe it will be changed in the future.
Otherwise big thumbs up for the work you guys are doing.
Anyways, looking forward to trying it out in the future, especially for the claws - that got me hooked up. ;)

@Jacobs He used dual bloodfang daggers that might have 0.5s attackspeed but have just 13 attack, the fast attackspeed is the point of shadowstrikers~
It might have felt so easy because he only hunted in the easiest of places you have access to upon leaving Bawfuria (rook).
The window you get when you look on something can be moved to anywhere on the screen, so there shouldn't be an issue~

Thanks for the compliments,
I'll address a few points you mentioned in your post just to give a better understanding, since obviously it's a different feel to play and to watch the gameplay.

When the guy engaged in a fight, the ridiculous attack-speed made everything dead fast, it looked so unreal and easy to play.

This is because of 2 reasons - he's playing a level 30 shadowstriker in a level 20-ish hunting area, so it's reasonable that those monsters feel weak compared to him (except for the Mutated Vermin which is a bit stronger monster), and shadowstrikers use the glass-canon style where they attack with daggers (high attack speed but low damage) so it is not surprising that he bursted through those slimes and weak creatures.

Look-on objects being displayed on top of the screen would be pretty bad for me - maybe you can change it, I don't know, he looked onto some objects, most of them were type of X... - made me take a step away from the stream.

The look window can be closed with right-click and can be positioned anywhere on the screen to your liking.
For some people it comes off as weird at first, but it is something you very quickly get used to when playing. It did open a lot of nice possibilities for us as developers in terms of aesthetics and better information delivery.

He didn't even know how to use some machine to transform something, sapphires I believe - beta, understandable.

Because he's a scrub.

jk recklez don't kill me pls ;c

I believe he was using claw weapons, which I always liked (played WoW few years ago), so big thumbs up for that.

He was using daggers, but claw weapons exist too, except they're used by a different vocation (wildheart). There is a wide variety of new items, from staves to guns to claws and knuckles. I think you would like that.

And in the end, there will probably be more streams as I add more areas and creatures out there, just yesterday I finished the sewers for the most part. Been working on it 18 hours straight. Gonna do some polishing today and then add more new areas.

I assume many of you have been waiting to visit Avernum on the test server, and tonight it's going to be released to all testers.
You will be able to go to the Isle of Judgement by talking to Captain Sharkslasher in Bawfuria (you will need to get demoted by SDC Carol first).

On Avernum, you will be able to enter Conqueria (the capital city), its Sewers that are filled with monsters and 4+ quests, and explore a ton of new items and NPCs.

Meanwhile we will work on releasing more areas and they will come 1 by 1 in the following weeks.

Looking forward to see you all, and look out for the 1.15 update tonight!

(Note: There is no level requirement to do this, you only need to have 5 sapphire gems. For players of level 20+ on Bawfuria, there will be a chest that gives 5 sapphire gems waiting for you on Sharkslasher's boat)

wow the client needs shitload of ram lol acnt i use a different client?

There is no other client to connect to Necronia with, sorry.

As we upgrade the game, the requirements become higher and higher because of all the new features and graphical updates. It is something factual, and we've by far established that the game is now almost entirely different from its roots.

I'm bringing you a huge news update along with the client patch 1.15 that we've been waiting for eagerly.

First of all, let's get this out of the way and see what's new in this client!
You can download the update on our download page or let your updater do that automatically for you upon your next login. For a recap of the most important updates from 1.15, keep reading.

In 1.15, we have finally fixed the Achievements and Age properties in your look window, so now you can properly see how old some character is and how many achievement stars he/she has. On top of that, badges have been fixed and are now displayed in full resolution.

In the blacksmithing menu, you can now find the artifacts category! Artifacts can be created by Smithing gems into a Hollow Augment.

However, gems might need to be upgraded first. Five gems of a single tier will give you a single gem of the next tier. [Use] a gemcraft engine in the Conqueria Forge on a stack of 5 gems of the same tier to do this.

We finally fixed that very tedious bug where minimap would unlock for floors under and above you, and removed some unnecessary light-sources that made some game areas make players lag heavily.

Dodge chance now caps at 37% too, so I'm sorry to all of you who were planning to build a 100% dodge shadowstriker - we can't allow you to have that much power.

That would be a recap of everything important in 1.15 as far as client/data/sprite features are related. Full list of change-logs can be seen in the updater or our changelog page.

Avernum
Many of you have waited a long time to step foot on the massive continent of Avernum. Today is the day this becomes possible.
With the release of 1.15, you will find Captain Sharkslasher on a boat in the Bawfuria harbor.

Captain Sharkslasher will sail you to the Isle of Judgement for a price of 5 sapphire gems. He will also demote you in case you already have a class, so that you can get a proper promotion on the Isle of Judgement as the King commands. If you are level 20 or above, you can use this chest to obtain the sapphire gems instead:

auxvxxs.png

Once you arrive on Avernum, you will have the following content available to you:

Conqueria City
Featuring 90% of the NPCs
Several quests
Lots of lore related dialogue and text
Casino
New shops and items to explore
Buyable houses
Library
and more...

Conqueria Sewers
Featuring 10+ districts filled with various nasty monsters
Several Quests including a World Quest

We decided to release these 2 areas to keep you from waiting any longer. As time goes, we will release new areas 1 by 1. This, we feel, is also the best way to test new content as we go - since everyone will be focused on the same areas, we lower the chances of missing any nasty bugs.

In Conqueria, you are able to access your Bawfuria depot (up to 5 times). Go to the Conqueria Bank and you will notice 2 depot boxes in a small room. Read the instructions on the wall to find out more about the limited access system.

Very soon, there will be a news update on our website informing you of our plans for the next month and the steps we're going to take to further our progress. Until then, enjoy the new content, test thoroughly and report all bugs - we'll see you ingame!
