Comparison: 8.6 and current

The amount of 8.6 servers seems infinite, it is saddening and very confusing at the same time.
The question and the problem I have is, WHY? Why are there so many 8.6 servers out there?

Yes, the bot theory is quite plausible, it's the only way you can get popularity, people using Elfbot (which has only up to 8.6 compatibiility)
In other words, 8.6 attracts noobs that don't quite know how to play OpenTibia.

Tibia 9.54, even the upcoming Tibia 9.6 is exactly the same as 8.6, with these difference:

9.54+ has, but 8.6 doesn't have:

• More monsters
• More items
• More spells
• More sprites for mapping
• More outfits
• Market system
• Mounts
• Ect..

So, tell me, what exactly is the appeal of 8.6 servers?

The appeal : I like the spells in 8.6 more than current client spells. Idk why,they are just more balanced,i'd say
And the 99% people play it because of elfbot

Well, the spells in 8.6 are the same as the spells in 9.54+, in addition, there are newer spells which give players more options to hunt.
If it's the cooldowns that people have a problem with; tell the server owner this:

config.lua

enableCooldowns = false

I am not quite sure but i think 8.6 servers distributions are easier to find also i think remere's map editor is compilable to 8.6.
Also those new features cool downs/market system are hard to get to work properly.

8.6 servers are easier to find? What exactly do you mean? Is Talaturen's announcement of 9.54 release not big enough?
Remere's map editor is compatible in any version from 8.6 up to 9.54+.

bot .. rme... easy to script and dont need to add much stuff ... but still i wanted to make a 8,7 cleint with old spells and 8.54 stuffs... so the most bots go away

I don't really know what i meant by that lol anyways i was just checking that thread and i was surprised that my few days ago made post was still the last post. I thought everybody would be hyped about that announcment

and like some months ago last rme version was for 8.6 before he went back to life ...

Elfbot exist on 8.6 and is very easy to crack, that's it.

Players prefer 8.6 because of Elfbot.
Hosters prefer 8.6 because they can leech the fuck out of scripts on otland and know they will work without bugs.

Millions of 8.60 data packs and distributions.

Where is a 9.54 full real map to be found? Nowhere, so why will the owners go through the stress of doing the job.. when they can make a 8.60 server in under 2 days almost perfectly as there are millions of data packs, and so on?

ShadowCores has an active 150 players online, and this other 9.54 server has around 200 active players(both been up for a month+).

But I think if there were more 9.54 real maps, GOOD distributions that are not bugged, more hosters will make those servers.. as only polish real maps are getting successful now.

Btw,nobody can make a mid rated rl map 9.0+ without bots and expect it to have high amount of players.
Only 9.0+ servers that are going to be populated are those with low exp stages

I feel as if 8.6 is more popular is because the meaning of OTs has disappeared it's not about making a server that people want to play anymore, it's about money. Once money gets involved things get ruined. I apprechiate what Geisor did for us by creating a user-friendly website but at the same time I feel as if his shop system sort of slayed the OT community. Now you just download a server, add a shop, edit a few items and find a real map. You'll get a few donations for 15 minutes of your time. It's just unreasonable that there are very few people who actually want to create a real server. Elf tried with Lordaeron and it was just a little too much money to run when people don't want a custom ot anymore. They want to play Real Tibia with all the things that they couldn't obtain in the actual game. Which is understandable. It's just that the community needs to realize that there is more to OTs than just free money.

There is one reason & one reason only, Elfbot.
Doesn't get anymore simple than that.

Nothing to do with donations/money, nothing to do with Spells, sprites, balance being better in 8.6 these are all lame excuses, people like botting & there is one bot that is easy to crack that everyone has & has every script they'll ever want for it "elfbot".

We're lazy & if we can get something to do something for us we will, that's why the remote control was invented, that's why we have transport, elevators, dish washers, all these things make life easier & that is what a bot does, makes your time on tibia easier, at the moment the people that don't like there Tibia so easy don't play 8.6, most play 7.4 servers, it's a known fact am sure, people that don't like 7.4 or the 8.6 botting age are stuck in a circle.
