DeathZot ( The Restoration Project)

Added two new 'utility' spells that can be purchased from a new NPC named 'Lord Sefaris'. The spells are 'Magic Sack' & 'Unlimited Mana Shield'.

Magic Sack creates a random colored backpack for the cost of 10 soul
Unlimited Mana Shield is a toggle mana shield that can be turned on / off by saying the words again

They both cost around 100k and any level can buy them

Not sure if I like this or not... My concern is that some vocations may become a bit OP.
oh, well. I guess I'll find out when I play.

you're kidding right?

I don't know xD
eh when I think about it, I guess it doesn't really matter. sorry, I was being stupid.
my initial thought was that a vocation with high health and "high" mana or vice versa would have been OP, but if I remember correctly there isn't a vocation like that so....

and whats the difference between utamo vita and one that lasts forever?

I'd say he thought that vocation wouldn't have an utamo vita spell, who knows

When I saw this thread, my heart started pumping a little. I hope that this server can thrive, because dzot was my favorite ot ever. I will be following this project.

Haven't played Tibia in a while but I'll def try this OT out. GL.

Going to be finishing up Edron today, and adding all the T1 Quests & adding the new Sin / Hate / Terror / Evil bosses to the map

I hope you remember the evolved defilers. I think this will be great as long as it's done right on the 8.6 client. I honestly liked 8.0 better, but if you can pull it off then what the hell.

I have the 8.0 server files so I'm doing spawns according to them, while at the same time revamping a lot of areas. And a lot of people apparently 'liked 8.0 better' but that doesn't explain why when DeathZot was last up on 8.0 it had a population of about 3 players. Not a lot of people would be willing to play an old 8.0 server, even if it was DeathZot. My intentions with this project is to hopefully get a lot of new players, but I'm having a hard time understanding why people keep saying that they 'liked 8.0' better. There really were not many changes to Tibia from 8.0 -> 8.60 besides the dual exhaust system and a few new items/outfits etc..

So help me understand why exactly you 'liked 8.0 better'?

@jphagard

It's all about the feel of a server to me. If you want the server to be based on leveling and stuff then don't add more features. Sometimes the most simple things are the most fun, I.E. Everquest has too much too do as with Runescape and World of Warcraft. I played tibia when the only thing to do was Level, Train, and Do quests, you didn't have to worry about addons, or mounts or anything. It was just Kill, Be killed, Quest or Train. That's what I'm looking for. That's what Dzot was at first. Only on a faster, more custom scale.

I'm also led to believe 8.6 is much more stable than 8.0 anyways

It's not about stability, it's about whats possible in 8.60. DeathZot 8.0 was based off of evolutions, and 8.0 XML Distro. Meaning, a lot of cool functions don't even exist in 8.0 so theres not a whole lot of room to add cool features. This is one of the biggest reasons why I didn't want to host it as 8.0. Also, why wouldn't anyone want to have more features & revamps in DeathZot? Sure, it may not be 100% the same as the old DeathZot, but it still will be great. A lot of us have played DeathZot and always knew what to expect from it, so why wouldn't you want something new? It's still essentially going to be the same server but just with a whole lot of new stuff to do.

But by that same logic, why not make it 9.6 or whatever the newest version is, instead of 8.6 which is already outdated?
