What exactly are you getting at?
You're complaining that Open Tibia server developers are "mimicking" Tibia with their work in one post, and yet in another post you write this?
Open Tibia is, and always will be, based off CipSoft's Tibia in one way or another.
Even if you look at some of the most heavily-edited Open Tibia servers, such as Zezenia Online or Necronia (both which, don't identify with "Tibia") you will see elements and fragments of Open Tibia, which were of course derived from the original work of CipSoft's Tibia.
This community is not based on an "obsession" with mimicking Tibia. This community is based on the idea that individuals (such as you and I) would be able to take a piece of open-source software (such as TFS) and replicate a semi-popular European MMORPG (Tibia) on our own. This community is based on users creating "Open Tibia" servers based on this said software, to try to create unique entertainment for an audience that presents content that they would never find in "Global Tibia." We use the original product as a base, and take it in a direction that the original product's company would never fathom taking it. This is a huge reason why you see many things in Open Tibia that CipSoft has yet to add to their servers, or is still unable to.
Please don't confuse our Open Tibia community with the 8.6 real map pizza servers you see on otservlist.

I'm sorry but my point must have been misunderstood. First let me just say i'm not talking about the OT or OTland community, but instead more directly to the people here that gets excited over the idea of once again creating a copy of a "new" Tibia. I mean, the programming and scripting is not the same on Tibia as TFS, right?
"This community is based on users creating "Open Tibia" servers based on this said software, to try to create unique entertainment for an audience that presents content that they would never find in "Global Tibia.""
Ofcourse, but why must the TFS copy the original Tibia? Why not for example focus on creating more mapping content or monsters and such(as open and free "software" for all developers) instead of trying to copy the new "features" they come up with all the time? I mean, what's the point in copying 100% when 100% of the original is not "good". Like the depots now for example. Why would a TFS-developer or any OT developer try and create the same thing where every depot contains 10-15 different depots(from all different cities)? This is a good example as it is basically CIP tripping on their own feet. They created a city-based depot-system that eventually sucked because there's too many cities. The obvious solution/evolution is to have only 1 depot, but instead they put all cities depots into all of them... crazy, no? Will TFS for 11.0 do the same?
"You're complaining that Open Tibia server developers are "mimicking" Tibia with their work in one post, and yet in another post you write this?"
That makes 100% sense, no? How can you create something "without CIPs envolvement" if CIP is the creator of the content you're constantly updating/copying? It's impossible, yes? I'm complaining/asking/arguing for why the TFS/OT developers try and mimick original Tibia(the newer versions) when it's obviously flawed in many, many players eyes. Why not branch off and call TFS/OT/'OTlands most used platforms' something new and original? This way it would be a lot easier for the developers of TFS to for example sell/rent out their work/finished TFS-versions to people who want to host a server aswell right?
This would make developers of open source content getting a piece of the profit that hosters earn hosting/scamming( ) players, right? And thus greatly boost the evolution/development of OT in general.. and Tibia aswell if they adapted to compete for the players with OT-servers.
