[7.1] Real Tibia Map as close as possible

Isnt gonna be 7.1? What distro r u gonan use
Really nothing is set, I am just getting into this, but my goal is to try and create an OT that is as true as possible to 7.1 Tibia with absolutely no changes. I am currently working from a TFS fork, but may end up doing major rewrites. I am very unhappy with the state of open tibia servers and code as it stands, I want to try and help make something that is a lot easier to build and run than currently exists.

Hello! wow Tibia 7.1 so nice looking!
There is any good map editor for that version to download?
I really want to create a map with those old 7.1 sprites.
thanks,
Atharymor.

Retrospective:

It's been one year since I started this Project, I had lots of fun doing it, researching all kings of old websites and found a lot of stuff that I forgotten about 7.1. It seems that it can be considered 'complete' since no further changes were found. Thanks for everybody who helped, having a 7.1 map was always a dream for me! You also have this topic Tibia 7.1 Brainstorming thread (https://otland.net/threads/tibia-7-1-brainstorming-thread.270732/) for further info about 7.1

Im curious, is anyone using this map in any OT?

For world maps you can use web archive of tibia.4-players.de (tibia.com) plus tibia.de and other fansites.
The rest is about finding screenshots on the Internet, I guess. This drive has a very decent library: Tibia 7.0 - 7.13 - Google Drive (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1TU132ZkZipx2V5wHUW6GUgISjyE_6SQK)
I'd also look for peoples old photobuckets, it used to be quite popular back then.
Comparing certain areas from a bit older and newer versions may lead to some conclusions about its look in 7.1 as well. For example, this must have been recorded shortly before 7.0 update:
Hi Kay, do you know why tibianic guildhall had a lever switch? that blow my mind haha

The lever on the main deck of the ship? I believe it use to work the drawbridge to the ship, this was back when the draw bridge levers in Thais worked too.

Could be but I wouldn't bet on it, because they didn't actually remove these scripts. They only removed levers, but the scripts are still there in the stolen 7.7 files and they are active. Impossible to trigger due to the lack of levers, but you can tell where these levers were placed exactly (Thais, Kazo, Mintwalin etc.) and how they worked. And in this case the lever remained but not the script which is unusual. Also the fact that they kept the lever even after the complete revamp of Tibianic in 7.6 kinda indicates it was a decoration.
But that's just my guessing.

I just found this:

Player: drawbridge
Knightmare: Once upon a time the northern drawbridge of Thais was fully operational. Though it could be used to block at least one path into the city and annoy other players it worked quite well until the number of players grew. ...
Knightmare: The city became increasingly inaccessible from the north, but some players enjoyed hunting those responsible for lifting the drawbridge or even started to guard the lever. ...
Knightmare: The deathblow for the drawbridge came from an unexpected side though. It was the fishing that made the drawbridge inoperative. ...
Knightmare: Since the server distinguished between fishable and temporally not fishable tiles, it was unable to reset tiles that were not fishable as it expected them to be. ...
Knightmare: That sometimes lead to holes in the bridge that were a rare myth for a while, but soon became more and more common. ...
Knightmare: After figuring out that the bridge mechanics had to be changed in any case, it was decided to lock the bridge once and for all and to allow undisturbed access to the city.

And also this:
According to this website (The Tibianic (https://tibia.fandom.com/wiki/The_Tibianic)), the lever had an use: There is a lever on the main deck that used to allow you to open/close the draw bridge. This functionality was later removed due to players being able to safely mana sit / train without the worry of pks.

This isn't a secret. As I said, those scripts regarding closing bridges in Thais, Mintwalin and Kazo (as well as several other outdated scripts) were still active in 7.7. They had only removed levers to make it impossible to trigger (one of their lazy solutions).
Nothing about the lever in Tibianic though. I wouldn't rely on Tibia wiki overall, people often add there information that they only believe to be true. You need to get in touch with someone from old Antica or search for ancient screenshots (with some luck) if it bothers you.

There were the levers to close the gates bridges:

Those two were to open/close Mintwalin entrance:

(if you ever wondered what that niche there was for, it's a reminiscence from the ancient times)

And here was supposed to be a lever to close Dwarven Bridge:

Though I believe the last one was never put in game. That is because the coordinates of the bridge in the script don't really match, even taking into account it was flat originally (according to the script, the bridge had to be way more to the north). The placement of a lever itself seems a bit strange too. I guess the script was related only to some early version of Kazordoon that wasn't in game, but their internal test server probably. Might be wrong though.

I wonder if someone watching this post and that actually played those days feels nostalgia :p Thank you indeed for it, i haven't found pictures of it yet tho.

those levers look so fun
someone should bring them back

are there any bridges that don't "map clean" so they'd stay closed? :p

Would love to try this map on a real 7.1 distro. I found only a really shitty distro where you could only have 1 floor on the map.

Is there any 7.1 distro out there that is relatively ok? Dont mind the bugs of 7.1 client. I would just love to play the real 7.1 client with this map.

Not a 7.7 with 7.1 graphics
