Yes, a lot of games use sprites without pixel art, like vector art, digital painting, etc. Feel free to pm me for any questions about.

Do you guys think interesting a pack with original sprites for replace the sprites from cipsoft (with commercial use allowed)?

The game industry is very profitable and maybe you could fly more higher.

In that case, with commercial use allowed, you could call your game original. You could put your game on steam, create a crowdfunding, register your brand, etc etc. Sky's the limit.


So, what do you think about?

If you use TFS&OTClient and have nothing made by cipsoft is in your OTS then you may proceed with the commercial use, as far as i know.
You may not use cipsoft client, cipsoft files (tibia.dat/tibia.spr and stolen 772 server things) etc. etc.

There's this one 'smart' guy who made 'tibia idle' and put paid adverts of it on instagram with name 'Tibia Idle' with Cipsoft Tibia sprites. this guy may get lawsuit.

There are already OTSes that pretend to be a proper MMO - ravendawn - and there's some on steam since ages ago -phobos. the result is that ravendawn is sh.t and phobos is even sh.ttier.

If you think to create custom OTS based on Naruto and put it on steam etc., most likely you'll have no luck and you won't run a big company and money will not fall on you from the sky, especially, that noone wants to play naruto OTSes.

Depends how far you want to go with your server
If it's a fun project to make some small money then I would just keep tibia sprites
If you want to go far above of a fun project like Ravendawn then you should use custom sprite's ofc

I wouldn't use any open tibia sprite's yet aslong you not getting any problems at all by Cipsoft

Yes, I agree. Im thinking about create a sprites pack for those who wants to go far above of a fun project, without break the bank.

english is not my main language so perhaps I din't express very well my idea

The idea is to make a complete sprites pack with professional look, for those who want make a original game and don't have much money to investi in exclusive sprites. That is commom in indie dev community outsite open tibia servers, but don't exists nothing similar following the Tibia perspective.
