Tibiara - A 7.4 Legacy World

Status
Not open for further replies.
The first world will be hosted in a popular common location in the USA (Ashburn), primarily catering to the North and South American player base. With the support of a proxy system, connection quality will be further optimized for these players, while also ensuring that European players can enjoy the server with the best possible connection. By mentioning 'first,' I do not exclude the possibility of additional worlds in the future.

To be announced on discord soon.

Thank you alot for these kind words, appreciate that.

Great decision, starting with the right foot!

I honestly cannot wait for everyone to try out what we've been putting so much effort into, lots of passion as well and love of course. To share a nostalgic experience in not a clone, or a replica, but in the actual real thing!
Omg Is the true of the true of true of the true réplica?
Not a replica, the real thing! We're using real CipSoft engine this time alone! Was a very rigorous task, lots of continuous testing, and uncountable work hours within a six-month time-span to reverse engineer the whole game binary that was leaked from CipSoft.

I've never played 7.4 Tibia or 7.4 Open Tibia Server
Is it worth to try it out as a 8.x player?
It's generally alot more "slow paced" and takes alot more patience than Tibia 8.x for example there is no runes in shop, all runes are player made etc.

I personally enjoy both 7.4 and 8.x and can play them both depending on my mood so I'd say it's worth trying before ruling out!

We do also have a 8.x server in the plans/making using Revol engine so at some point we will most likely be offering both experiences and not only having two different versions (worlds) but we also want to make it to a smooth client transition if players decide to hop between versions (worlds) but we will of course be very careful with this as we don't want any 8.x advantages to affect 7.4 world and vice versa. But the idea is to make it easy and smooth for players to seamlessly enjoy best of both worlds.

Are you serious? This was the best version of Tibia, but the most hardcore as well, it's not automatic, everything is manual. You can't buy runes from NPC's, all runes are player made, market is governed by players

From a technical perspective, our possibilities are nearly limitless. In the future, this will allow us to integrate different versions, such as version 8.1, directly into our client.

Creating an authentic 7.4-7.72 replica is relatively easy, as we have all the needed files. However, it's not straightforward for other protocols, as there are no formulas for different protocols, such as 8.0+. This fact alone makes it nearly impossible to make a 100% accurate server for protocols other than 7.4-7.72—but there are way more, such as NPC dialogues, monsters' values, etc., that could never have been found. Anyway, good luck.

I get what you're saying, maybe we could have explained it better but hence why we say NEARLY. To be clear we aren't saying we are going to have a 100% accurate 8.1 cause that's impossible. Only 7.7 will ever be 100% accurate, not even 7.4 or any other earlier protocol is 100% accurate.

For example we have some 7.4 details that other competitor servers even the bigger ones do not have, cause we've put in the time and studied alot of cams from the past and taken stats from that with the support for some things we've noticed logic reasoning within the cipsoft code to get the best output. Same will be done for a 8.x version, alot of studying and research will be done. But yeah even then there might be some details that are incorrect 7.4 vs 7.7 & 8.1 etc. We are just going to have to rely on statistics and research to get the best possible formulas for a potential 8.x server. Can't really do better than that.

But yes indeed it will be impossible to get a 100% accurate protocol if it's not straight up the 7.7 leak. But we can get damn near close to it, cause we do put in the work and time for the slightest detail that can be found :)

I long for the day we will have a true 7.4 replica that never changes and that stays online forever.
I hope this could be it.

It would be amazing to have something to log in to. I understand most people won't like to have a server that never changes. But that's the thing. You can always make other servers with updates. But keep one genuine 7.4 replica online at all times. 365 days per year. A place where people can chat, if anything.

Many people, including myself, only play real Tibia to chat. It's a 2D chat client. We are many players who would play a 7.4 server just to chill and chat.

I believe the only way to do that is a community driven server. Because the management of nearly all servers vanish after some time and bots take over. It would need to have gamemasters, just like real Tibia. And as soon as someone retires, someone else is added. It would require a tutor test too and things like that.

An OtLand driven server. Maintained by the community. There's hundreds of very skilled people in this community. If everyone put together their minds and focused on this instead of some money, we'd have the most perfect server. Just like what happened with TFS. When it was being developed, people put their heart and mind into it - for 0$.

Because let's face it, there's no money in making a 7.4 replica server. People want to play it a few times each year, but nobody wants to pay for hosting. Especially with no pay2play stuff.

A fully vanilla 7.4 is something we potentially could host on the side since we did everything vanilla first and then branched off to add "custom" stuff. But we don't really want to split players into multiple worlds, this doesn't work well for longevity of a game world unfortunately. But the updates we plan for the future are strictly in style with 7.4 and mainly map and quest content.

We might add some custom cosmetic stuff such as shaders, auras etc but it will be up to the players if they want to see such effects in their client (basically they can toggle on/off such visual effects)

But I do like the idea of having a 7.4 museum type of world where players can log in experience the nostalgia for a few hours whenever they miss the experience of old Tibia :)

But yeah we did branch off a vanilla 7.4 Revol engine + sectors (map) before changing and adding custom stuff:

Please stop typing, you know shit about tibia
Better use chatgpt if you want to chat, such server would have 0 players online

yet another perfect 7.4 black market heaven where 90% 'players' will make cash and runes for investors 🤣 🤣

There is no easy way to really stop this.
The only thing we can do is have a strict policy and make sure to enforce it to hinder people from using softwares/bots to gain an advantage.

Unfortunately gold/item/rune selling between players for real money happens everywhere and is not exclusive to Tibia or OT's.

And if you're hinting/asking if that we will actively allow such things, we do not. It's not that easy to hinder people from doing this. We can only hinder them from using software to do these kinds of things.

what about account lock per hwid with 1 hwid reset per month or two avaliable - to prevent massive account sharing by servicers, so you would have to actually play your character instead of paying someone to do that? imo that would also limit black market transactions a lot, as those who invest usually don't have time to pump their chars 20 hours a day and waste 100bp of sd everyday. Also probably a working way to slow down the game as you want, because changing or nerfing spawns does not work at all in terms of slowing down 7.4 (its usually disadvantage only for those who play by themselves without investing)

Could work in theory but it's not bulletproof unfortunately.

Rules and punishments will be very strict thought. Serious rule breaking (where punishment is deletion ex.) will affect all accounts the banned individual has accessed and played on. So people will have to be careful with whom they share and do business with.

Eg. someone pays a servicer to play their char. Servicer decides to bot one account = all accounts servicer has had access to will get punished.

it doesn't matter how strict you will be, unless you will also delete chars that were boosted by cheated black market runes or cash
single individual will bot/mc and sell runes/cash till the deletion, and then he will do the same over and over again

current state the classic "hardcore 7.4" as we know it (such as TIbiantis and Miracle) are extreme pay to win model, through the "black" market, and that's literally what motivates the majority of people to play it, in fact. We all know it is impossible to stop the black market, but honestly, in a hypothetical scenario where one is able to fully stop the black market, the server would very likely just die, since most that enjoy 7.4 also do it because of the market of goods for RL cash. Even if you are not the powergamer that burns money to earn xp, even a casual player is interested in the market since he knows his time is worth something and he may be able to sell it at some point, so that is attractive.

There is no way to stop the black market, and in fact, it is a bad idea to even try to stop it. Unless you bring me a completely revamped game design (which would be far away from 7.4 vanilla), you'd rather just either embrace (and create a char bazaar) or accept black market.

Macro/bot/cheaters are a different case, however. It is sure possible to avoid most of it, or at least the highest impact of it (such as someone owning a huge farm of runes vs a simple macro for training).
