The Chuva Grande Plantations II and a toxic hope on S.T.A.L
In a sealed chamber of the abandoned
S.T.A.L. facility, the remains of Engineer
Moses Tuvida were discovered among scattered bones and corroded equipment. Tuvida was the first to witness the rupture of containment tanks that released
VX-Herbex Taputrioxin (C₈H₁₀Cl₂NO₄P), a volatile herbicidal compound designed to accelerate crop dominance. The gas spread through the laboratories, mutating workers into Bog Raiders and corrupting plant life. Outside, Sweet Tropic’s fertile plantations continue to thrive, growing experimental desert wheat for Kretara—plants that now hunt living prey for moisture.

The
Sweet Tropic Company, operating under the economic influence of Greyhaven, has developed a range of experimental crops through the research conducted at the
Southern Tropics Agrochemical Labs (Project S.T.A.L.). These products are designed not only to increase yield but to reshape entire ecosystems in favor of Greyhaven’s agricultural dominance.
One of their most ambitious projects is
Kretarah Drygrain, a modified rice engineered to grow in arid environments such as the deserts of Kretarah. By altering root behavior and water absorption cycles, the crop can survive in soils with minimal moisture, allowing Greyhaven to expand agriculture into previously barren lands.
Another major export is the
Tropical Fire Gourd, an aggressive variety of
spiced tropical squash that thrives in humid coastal climates like the Chuva Grande Delta. Its intense flavor and resilience make it highly profitable in Greyhaven markets.
However, many of these crops are linked to dangerous ecological side effects. Experimental fertilizers and growth hormones used to enhance productivity have been associated with the mutation of native carnivorous plants, giving rise to species such as
Carniphila and
Spit Nettle, organisms that now roam the plantation borders.
To critics in Zangatu and Dambori Camp, these innovations are not agricultural progress, but
weapons of ecological control, allowing Greyhaven to dominate both food supply and territory across the southern continent.
