DeathZot ( The Restoration Project)

I've changed the way Tier 1-> 4 is merged, instead of being hidden throughout the game world I've added 'Merging Stations' above the depot. However, to make T5 and beyond you'll have to locate that merging station on your own.

Great additions to the server in my opinion especially with the duplication issues that faced all death's servers. Glad to see you moving to improve it and hope to see the server online sometime soon :)
 
I won't give dates anymore because everyday I find more and more that could be worked on.
The server will always have something that could be worked on. It's never gonna be released if you only plan on releasing it when it's perfect. You can always make changes to the server if needed even after its release.

It hasn't been released because its not done, I can release it whenever I want to, and no I can't just throw up changes when it's released because most changes are source edits and I can't just compile a new .exe and throw it on a dedicated host
 
Possible solution could be to release the server hosting it yourself for a few hours a day in a beta form. That would hopefully help find bugs, provide helpful feedback and suggestions. Then when you feel the server is ready put it onto the dedicated host

What I'm saying is basically what Orbi said. You can release it, without using a dedicated host, to let players try the server (as well as find bugs and imbalances) and you will still be able to make important changes if you need to. Because releasing the server without it being tested by many other players first seems kind of risky.
 
Change Log as of 8-29-12

Promotion now requires level 300, from level 20
Promotion now costs 5mil, from zero

Reasoning -> Before, when you started DeathZot you pretty much logged in and used /promotion and were instantly promoted & got all the outfits + addons. It was pretty much a useless feature because it meant everyone was promoted and there really wasn't any work to getting the promotion. However, it was still good to become promoted because it gave you roughly 30% more attack speed, less death loss, and more health + mana regeneration. Now promotion will be something that has to be worked towards and the rewards will be worth it. I've increased the attack speed by 10% for non-promoted vocations to compensate for this change, and made it so promotion (depending on your vocation) will give you roughly 20-30% additional attack speed, along with less loss on death and increased health, mana and soul regeneration. The mana + health regeneration is now 10x higher then previous promotion, and soul regen is 3x faster after being promoted. Promotion can be obtained through an NPC located in Edron castle.

Changes to low level bosses
Sin, Hate, Evil, and Terror no longer spawn anywhere on the map
They were replaced with 'Essence of Sin / Hate / Evil / Terror" which are non aggressive monsters that are hidden throughout the game, however they only have 1 health and can be killed by anyone. Once you kill them, their corpse turns into an 'Essence of Sin / Hate / Evil / Terror" which can then be used by anyone above level 100 to summon the specific boss where ever they want. This allows people of any level to collect the essences and gives them a chance to sell / trade them off to higher levels. I decided to do this change so that you don't necessarily need to be a high level in order to have items that have value.

Changes to Edron
Edron is currently being revamped to suit hunting from lvl 200 - 500, all spawn's are being revamped to be more noob friendly in terms of finding where the spawns are. The town was also revamped to be more of a town people would want to hang out in, rather then just pop in and hunt it and leave.
 
Does promotion also increase hp and mana gained per level?

No because it would just cause problems for people who don't get promotion immediately at level 300, and even if I were to correct their health & mana with a script I never liked the ideas of promotions giving more mana & health per lvl.. it makes it harder to balance

Awesome changes mate, I personally like them.. Dang I bet your server will get quite some players, current custom otscene = dead for now
 
Added two new 'utility' spells that can be purchased from a new NPC named 'Lord Sefaris'. The spells are 'Magic Sack' & 'Unlimited Mana Shield'.

Magic Sack creates a random colored backpack for the cost of 10 soul
Unlimited Mana Shield is a toggle mana shield that can be turned on / off by saying the words again

They both cost around 100k and any level can buy them
