This is the problem, to keep open source projects open sourced, you don't make money from them.Usually it from forcing people to pay 5k USD. Some people, and this may be a hard concept for some people. Are really poor and try to make a living off OTS. One of the greatest things about otland and the open tibia community was that if people could make something and make some money they could help themselves.
When people start to make money from them, that's when things start to become private. This then creates the problem that people don't want to share their work, since others will just profit from it and not pay anything back to the original creator.
OTs was never created as a way to make a living, it was designed as fun (remember having fun?) Tibia servers (originally pvp training for war guilds).
