I think HesteN have much more to do at the minimap;) anyway i'm coming home from My holiday tomorrow, then i post pics at a biiig boat and some nature djungel.
 
Hesten i love the rope hole bit with the rocks/bones/teeth :D Looks awesome & the general map looks really good, nice mapping my friend ;)

So here is the asked for minimap. I am not proud of the minimap look its not really "tought-trough" becouse I didint do the shape before I started to map on the main continent, I just started to map and built it out more and more. Well, here it is ~

Yeah I know, there's alot that needs to be revamped, both shape and closer up, and some parts are unfinished, alot of work to do yet :p
 
That shape looks shitty, if I were you I would do a new one or request a new minimap from someone and import pieces. As it looks right now there is no thought with the map, spawns are randomly placed just as the city.

Nice mapping though!

I know the shape dosent look good on the minimap, but fuck no ofcourse im not gonna do a complete new map do you have any fucking idea about how much there would be to move? -.- even if the continent dosent look that full with stuff everywhere I can tell you that the underground caves are 3 times as big as the main floor, ATLEAST. That idea is just stupid.

How can you say that the spawns are placed randomly just as the city? Can you see how the spawns are placed? and The citys are placed just where I want them.


But yes it was no tought when I started to map it becouse I didint do the shape from the beginning, I started this over 5 years ago so everything have just been built out. And even tho it dosent look good in the minimap I can asure u that u wont think about that when you play ingame becouse then its all coming along just fine.
 
@hesten, i think he just wants to insult a pro mapper.. You're minimap isn't THAT bad... The shape is easily editable.. So yh.

And the cities look like, ingame they will be awesome.

You going to concentrate on getting the main continent finished so you get the server up or continue mapping what you feel?
 
Yeah exactly thats what Im doing, Im currently working on the swamp around/outside Gothica City, I've got huuuuuge ass caves placed out everywhere on the map so its alot more finished then it actually looks like, but on the ground floor there's alot of nature and simple stuff as that, that I need to finish, so thats what Im doing right now :p
 
Stop worrying about shape, who cares? Nobody will notice as long as your spawns flow and fit into the map at right spots. If someone actually walks around the entire coast to see the shape of the map then they really need to do something more productive with their time.

You can edit the shape all you want, but because you didn't start with a base it won't look like the shape is natural. Since it's not worth your time to move things around and transfer to a new shape, you might as well press onwards.
