Hey guys, tought i might just share this with you.

Megaupload was shutdown (not thanks to SOPA, because it doesnt exit, but it sure got to do with it.)
Sources:

"The Justice Department said in a statement said that Kim Dotcom, formerly known as Kim Schmitz, and three others were arrested Thursday in New Zealand at the request of U.S. officials. Two other defendants are at large.
Before the website was taken down, it contained endorsements from Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys and Kanye West, among others."

It's also worth noting that the CEO of Megaupload is hip-hop producer Swizz Beats.

INFO ABOUT SWIZZ BEATS

"
Kasseem Dean (born September 13, 1978),[SUP][1][/SUP] better known by his stage name, Swizz Beatz, is an American record producer, DJ, rapper and painter. At the age of 17, he gained attention in the hip-hop world through his friendship with rapper DMX. Grady Spivey and rapper Cassidy helped launch his label Full Surface Records. He is married to Contemporary R&B superstar Alicia Keys and has one child with her, as well as three other children. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Megaupload.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP]"

----------

This is a SAD day for internet users in generall, megaupload was once nearly the 13th most viewed website, now it's gone and the ones responsible will be looking forward to jail the most years to come

----------

How will OTlands/OTfans be affected when it comes to SOPA law if CipSoft wants to press charges for copyright infregment?

It's not "thanks to the SOPA-law". but it's a showoff from the government that "hey, look at us what we can do! BEWARE".

also, i cannot change the title.. kinda sucks

hahaha incredible they are charging the web designer LOL

Finn Batato, 38, a citizen and resident of Germany, who is the chief marketing officer;
Julius Bencko, 35, a citizen and resident of Slovakia, who is the graphic designer;
Sven Echternach, 39, a citizen and resident of Germany, who is the head of business development;
Mathias Ortmann, 40, a citizen of Germany and resident of both Germany and Hong Kong, who is the chief technical officer, co-founder and director;
Andrus Nomm, 32, a citizen of Estonia and resident of both Turkey and Estonia, who is a software programmer and head of the development software division;
Bram van der Kolk, aka Bramos, 29, a Dutch citizen and resident of both the Netherlands and New Zealand, who oversees programming and the underlying network structure for the Mega conspiracy websites.

The file-sharing site Megaupload, which was at one time the “13th most popular website in the world” was shut down today by the Feds on account of privacy violations (big shocker). The website has allegedly cost copyright holders hundreds of millions of dollars. You can take Megaupload, but please, please don't take my Mediafire. It's all I have left.

U.S. Shuts Down MegaUpload, Charges Kim Dotcom, 6 Others With Piracy - Forbes

McLEAN, Va. (AP) — One of the world’s largest file-sharing sites was shut down Thursday, and its founder and several company executives were charged with violating piracy laws, federal prosecutors said.

An indictment accuses Megaupload.com of costing copyright holders more than $500 million in lost revenue from pirated films and other content. The indictment was unsealed one day after websites including Wikipedia and Craigslist shut down in protest of two congressional proposals intended to thwart online piracy.
