I really enjoy this piece but the general feeling of it is taken away by the color of water than doesn't seem to fit the place.

I guess the most important is to get the proportions right, rest is pretty much up to you. You can look at some real life examples, other games, artworks etc. Of course it requires some practice, so keep trying.
