For what it's worth...

The 8.72 format will work up to client 9.40. You can get the signatures for each client by opening the Tibia.dat file in a hex editor and the signature will be the first 4 bytes. For example, if you open the 8.72 Tibia.dat file in a hex editor you will see that the first 4 bytes are 1A 1A AD 4D. You need to reverse those bytes to get the signature. So, 1A 1A AD 4D becomes 4DAD1A1A. See how I reversed them? If you can't understand how to do that then you really don't deserve a working format file...

Next, BlackDemon's TibiaEditor cannot be updated to support clients above 9.40. This is because, starting with client 9.41, CipSoft added a new market flag that contains information vital to the new, in-game market. This includes the category the item goes in (tools, weapon, etc.), vocation restrictions, level restrictions, and also the name of the item. And because they included the name there is no property we can add to the format file that will allow us to read that name. This means that the current version of TibiaEditor that you can download from this thread, version 6.X Alpha, is henceforth non-updatable. The only way you can add this is by updating the source code, if you have access to it. However, I am currently in development of a program that does exactly what TibiaEditor does, and it's currently working for version 7.00-9.44.
