US joining RubiniOT ping help?

I’m typically around 120-140 ping for his server, so it isn’t horrible and makes it somewhat playable, but what does make it unplayable are the random spikes that rubber band me often. Is there any way to improve this? Thanks in advance.

I typically wouldn’t play/join a BR server, but I personally haven’t seen many OTs running 13.0+ for the US region with a decent population and as well done. I hope he and his team make a US server (probably unlikely).

Maybe this is not your problem
Location is bad

If the server itself is unstable or overloaded, there might not be much you can do from your side

Look for US Servers
You mentioned that the reason you're on the BR server is the lack of US servers for your game. If the community or developer of the game continues to grow, they may eventually open a US server

These people who create servers usually
have little knowledge about the location and pings in their countries
it makes it difficult for players to play well

That’s the conclusion (unable to fix this issue) I’ve come to after trying multiple “low ping” programs that allow you to free trial. Thank you for the reply. To be fair, 120ms isn’t bad and it’s fairly decent to play on with the occasional hiccup in comparison to players EU/AUS who struggle with 200+ ping. As I continued to level and adapt, it didn’t feel too bad.

Unfortunately there is not much to do, I play between 150-200 ping, somewhat unplayable... There is always one or another program that helps you with high ping peaks, like ExitLag or Noping, which has helped me to establish the ping a bit and be between 130-140 with hardly any packet loss.

Where are you guys from? I’m still deciding where to host my 7.4 oldschool server. Even through my client supports proxy connection it is of course still important to find a good main location.

do you know which host miracle/shadecores use?

miracle74.com? It's hosted on Hetzner.com cloud server in Ashburn (Virginia), USA (east coast) on machine CPX41 (8 cores, 16 GB RAM, ~32$ per month). It uses OTCv8 proxy system to filter DDoSes, optimize ping and reduce lags (packet losses, as OTCv8 proxy sends 2 packets thru 2 TCP connections for every real network packet, so if 1 packet is lost, player won't notice it). It uses 10+ VPSes in OVH (OVH US, not OVH international that has servers in America only in Canada), Hetzner and 3 other datacenters for OTCv8 proxy.

kasteria.pl/kasteria.online/castabra.com uses similar network configuration (Hetzner USA Cloud + OTCv8 proxies for DDoS protection) for last few years.

If you plan to host server in Hetzner, you cannot do it without OTCv8 proxy (which hides real server IP). Hetzner anti-DDoS is pretty useless and if anyone get your server IP, he can make it offline 24/7.
