Thronar - Alternate Tibia Server (New more organized thread)

Hummm, I will always say no to tibian spell language, since I decided to make everything my own on Thronar, I definitely dont want to see tibian words. Between tibia spell language and the current prefix system Im using, Id rather the second.

As I said, I want to create an own language for magic (skills such as power strike are ofc not included, they would remain the same), something easily caught and such but... thats on the bottom of my priority list so dont expect it any soon.

Thanks for opining :D

Id like to discuss a new topic: Random Quests!

Basically, these are countless spots in most dungeons and caves that will reward the player randomly. The rewards would be defaulted and categorized in level ranges depending on its location, and under certain circunstances, would be repeteable.

My main objectives with this system is:
-Making each dungeon, cave or any other particular place worthy to explore.
-Giving more objectives and thrilling to players.
-Increasing Thronar's gameplay longevity, by adding the "re-explore" option even with your same old character.
-Creating unique gameplay experience for each character with the most variated types of random rewards.

Now what I want to discuss is: what types of rewards do you think that would fit all these above? You can suggest anything, Im open to ideas here. Also tell me what you think, be it good or bad, about this unique system and any suggestions to make it better!

Maybe something such as:
You open a chest and you got a Buff/Debuff. (Regen - Degen)
You open a chest and you find HP/MP Potions.
You open a chest and you find HP/MP Herbs.
You open a chest and you got 20% of your soul recovered.
And about own spell language,
I think its really good already.
Its really better H-Heal / H-Selfheal betwen Exura - Exura Gran - Exura Vita

Your ideas are actually pretty good, they are worth implementing, thanks a lot.

Any other suggestion?

just saw this thread for the first time, and I want to join in the next beta test please :)

I pretend not to open a beta yet so soon, I dont want to disappoint players due to unfinished content as it already happened some times. I will first complete the content up to at least level 40 before opening again.

Sup! Did you miss me? ;D
Jajaja! Well, I think this is a good idea, but it's a bad idea too, maybe you can give "achievement points" or "reputation" or "better? ranks" to the people that makes the quest again, but not give the same items, that will leave the lower level players in disadvantage, that's what I guess >.<

Between, who's Delita Hyral?
He/She works in your project? <_<

I'll comment post your mappings soon my bro
Good luck ;D

Some kind of reputation for those who do many random quests would be a good addition indeed, but dont worry about the items, the rewards are random for this reason. On Thronar, the craft system to acquire equipment will be very much necessary and encouraged, for thar reason there is no quest such as "Demon Helmet" quest, wich will give you a fixed item. Every quest give players money and exp and some small extras such as skill points, magic level, potions, elixirs, some materials, etc. This way, each player will have to either buy his gear from other players or craft his own, or even luckly drop them from monsters (wich is very rare).

Delita Hyral is a friend of mine, I share some ideas with him about the project.

Thanks for commenting =D

This looks like some good fun! Count me in when it's in beta testing!

Downside to awesome servers like this? They never get up, and if they do, they don't stay up. Fucking new generation of tibitards only like 1000x Real Maps.

Good luck to you all though, looks great.

Thanks Taffy ;)

I may be a bit inactive but the project is not dead. Im mapping some stuff right now actually, I hope I can get a good rhythm.

There should be many guild accessible quests, from where the term "guild" reside from.

A guild is a group of members who does jobs/requests.
For an example if you have seen the Anime Fairy Tail, they have a blackboard displaying available quests to do.
If you have played Fable, many missions there are based on quests you get from the main guild.

This might be interesting to think about. :9

Indeed the guild quest concept is very interesting, if comparing to Fairy Tail. I would really like to introduce a system like this, and another one special event/quest personally reviwed by the admin (me) ingame, I will talk about it soon.

For now, I just want to say that the project is not dead, actually its close to release than ever! Ive said that the biggest problem was finishing the map, and Im getting closer to it! Here is a pic of the current mini-map:

Edit: Removed mini-map.

As you may notice, Ive cut some areas of the initial map and made it smaller, but it will really not be a problem since its still a huge deeply detailed map with lots of secrets.
As soon as I finish the map, I will be able to work on the last parts of the scripting, the story line quest, some systems, events and such. And believe me, thats WAY easier and faster than map considering that most of it is already done :D

-Thronar's Event System
So, anyone curious about this system Ive mentioned? Basically, at any time anywhere, I will login and broadcast messages hinting about the event that I will be preparing, and each time will be an unique event, since I will do it manually and personally each time. It could range from hunting specific monsters, or finding a number of certain items, reaching a specific place, anything where my creativity leads me. Also, following the same lines, there will be random pvp events anywhere. I may simply broadcast it or secretly tell someone, kill X person and you will get a reward. Or I may even pick 2 or more guilds and send them war proposals with rewards, if both parties accept (or even one-sided depending on the size of the guild), they will fight and the winner will get the reward!

Rewards: they will vary from simply gold, crafting materials, equipment, spellbooks, etc, or advanced rewards, such as a new built guild hall, a special rebuild on your house, a new teleport point somewhere on the map, new monsters, new caves, new items avaliable on the stores... ANYTHING that I can imagine! The guild events will have world-wide rewards and will be handled from time to time on the forums personally, and the winners from such events will have the ability to vote on multiple reward choices.

The rough idea is this, of course I have yet to polish it, but my intent is never let Thronar's world boring, repetitive and previsible, and thats what scripted events are. With this, I will personally enforce rpg and pvp on the server, with valuable rewards and community discussions and keep Thronar alive.

Please give me your thoughts about this, I need to know what my players would think of such system!

Now that map is impressive.

Druid can not logically assume the roll of a necromancer.. Stop killing D&D.

You say that it doesnt make sense by stating that Im killing D&D, even tho Im not using any other know game as referal for my classes. D&D didnt created the word druid, the first meaning of the word doesnt says wich kind or magical element it uses, Dungeons and Dragon's concept isnt absolut.

I can do whatever I want with my druid, even shoot rainbow lasers if I want. If in the mythology I created for Thronar is possible for a druid to become a necromancer, then it is.

when we'll be able to play a test server ou the official server? cant wait :)
