In other words, when you hire him, he will take the money and make the sprites for you, but he will still sell/give them away to others, cause why not. And he doesn't see anything inappropriate in it.You are not paying for it to be yours. You are paying for the requested artwork.
Myself and anyone who do any artwork without any agreement (such as this one) can do whatever they want with the thing they made.
Same it goes with not sharing. This is our decision (people you are paying to) to not post it anywhere but just to be for your own use. This is obviously more logical but not legal at all. There isn't any law that says I cannot share the sprite once you paid me. We(spriters or any other artists) just think as humanbeing and think that we should not.
Everyone who had the same experience with you probably would do the same, but additionaly do not refund you at all and post the whole spritesheet for free use.If anyone considers service of this guy, please take a look at this:

If someone is clever enough to read with awareness, there is no issue in knowing the situation and the cause of my decisions made with you.Which is a fraud and only tells everyone what kind of person you are.

If you're that clever at "reading with awerness", would you mind reading the below points and telling everyone whether they're true or not?
- You extended the time from "3-5 days" to over 3 weeks
- Even after that time you did not deliver the complete subject of our deal (missing dead bodies sprites)
- You did not send the money back
- Despite not sending the money back, you posted those sprites in public forum as "free to use" and claim that you can "do whatever you want"
- Did you verify my payment in advance on your bank account, and now you claim you have no access to that account, hence not sending the money back?
Just simple yes/no would be enough.
yup i also would like to see the answer. curiosity daaamnI would also like to know your answer to these @marek12
hereI would also like to know your answer to these @marek12
"I will repeat it 100th time- You have asked for a refund after I have sent you a spritesheet within the deadline agreed by both of us on forum and at the same time asked for email to send it over in .png files.
Even though it was extremely disrespectful and not fair from your side, I decided to refund you and clearly stated that I will refund you.
After that been said I have publish 1 out of 19 frames (3 animations=~ 5% of the work).
Once you would not be refunded/said that I won't refund it or once I have never replied after that, you could make this viral feedbacks full of lies to make you a victim and moan.
I will be refunding the full amount as I mentioned before and I will message you and also post it in here once the transfer went trough.
It should not take more than 4days and depending on the delay you will receive the money regardless. (in case I cannot retrieve my password I will send the money from my original bank account, any fees will be deducted from the amount).
Well. You are right. Situation like this one did not happen to me very often, in fact it is first time that I meet such a disrespectful person like Kay.I can confirm the translation from the screen.
I also would like to stand that I (online) "know" kay for a bit now (few years is it?), he is not a friend of mine (actually we rather argue with each other rather than having friendly talks, no hard feeling tho from both sides), but as far as can tell he is a rather reliable and wordy person. I can't see him profit from giving out negative feedback.
That being said, I never made any business with him, never bought anything from him, and so on. On the other hand, marek12 committed a bit into this forum on a few topics, he tried to resurrect the spriting section, and so on.
For me, it looks like marek12 was just simple unprofessional, but I truly believe it wasn't fully on purpose, he just happened to be in a new situation that he could not handle.
I would suggest for @marek12 to give money back to @kay and forget about this case - or better yet - learn from it.
I agree with what Ochman said, I think you just accepted a kind of job u couldnt handle.
But there's no excuses for being disrespectfull.
You posted a paid job, didnt refund and gave so many fake excuses ( why not just refund the guy and settle this??)
I dont know kay, but I find quite unlikely a veteran would scam someone for no reason
Careful with that , this can damage your reputation in a way u can't even imagine
Pleasure to work with you guys. Honestly.Would just like to say without reading too much of the above criticisms that Marek has done several animated sprites for me & my team now and I haven't had a single issue. Every sprite delivered was accurately detailed and working to spec. I will continue to use his services and others should understand ANY one with any sort of business receives both positive and negative feedback; it is simply impossible to please everyone. Marek does a lot of free work for my server without us even asking.. just as a courtesy. To me that's a quality of someone who really aims to please the customer and keep them coming back.
Well. People don't understands that Kay tried to scam me, not the opposite ...
I have hired spriting artists from otland several times.
Without even reading or agreeing on anything, the terms have always been clear.
I as a buyer pay x amount of cash. To recive a sprite that NONE else has the rights for. Hence I am the buyer.
You are not paying for it to be yours. You are paying for the requested artwork.
