Introducing Tibia Relic (and the devs behind it)

Dear community, this article aims to introduce you to Tibia Relic (7.4), a project that had us working hard for the past year, a project in which we truly put our hearts on.

Tibia Relic was built by two devs that have been playing Tibia since the early 2000's and have been around the OT server scene for a long while as players. All these years of gameplay in different servers wielded a vast source of inspiration for custom content, as well as a sense of what works and what does not work when it comes to slow-paced servers. Our goal was to preserve the classic map while also presenting an innovative gameplay, with the introduction of new quests, creatures and areas in a 7.4 format, while preserving the challenging and grindy nature of that version.

We kindly invite you to read more about our work in the following topics.

About Tibia Relic

Tibia Relic is a 7.4 server with 1x rates that aims for a long and stable run, with zero tolerance towards cheaters and no pay-to-win mechanics other than the standard premium account purchase. This 7.4 server was built based on a decompiled version of the original 7.7 binary, made by @fusion32, having the devs manually reversed most of the patched mechanics, sprites and map back to their original 7.4 form.

Although Tibia Relic embraces the spirit of classic 7.4 Tibia, it also provides the player with a vast amount of custom content. The custom features play a very important role in the concept we propose for this server, especially when it comes to the RPGing and mysteriando aspects.

About the custom features

This server's custom features are mostly focused on the RPG aspects of Tibia, introducing three major custom questlines that interweave between the classic and custom lores. These questlines are often required to unlock access to custom regions of the map that contain new villages, NPCs, quests, houses and hunting grounds. All the custom respawns have been thought through and balanced in a way that they do not overshadow the hunting spots available in the classic map itself.

Tibia Relic has also implemented more than ten functioning epic quests that will require the player to travel the map, explore new locations, learn about the lore from NPCs or books and sometimes solve puzzles. Each one of these epic quests will grant the first player to solve it a unique one-time-reward epic item. There will be plenty of opportunities and many subplots in the lore for you to explore and see where it takes you!

Beyond the classic monsters, our server will also present you with a number of custom creatures, bosses and raids. The custom creatures range from weak early game monsters to late game juggernauts that can threaten even high level players. All custom sprites have been made exclusively for this game.

Some of the classic quests were edited in order to provide an even more challenging and slow-paced gameplay. Many of the quests that usually provide you with mid-game equipment had their rewards modified or removed, for example, the Black Knight quest (crown armor + crown shield will no longer be obtainable there) and the Behemoth quest (which will no longer give you a Guardian Halberd). These changes were made to restrict the speedrun potential in the first months of the server, while also increasing the trade value of most mid-game items, thus motivating more players to organise themselves to hunt the creatures who drop them.

We have slightly increased the base armor of most of the mid-game and late game gear. This measure was taken in order to motivate the player to invest into upgrading their equipment, since having a better set will have a higher impact in the gameplay.

Some locations and lores of the original 7.4 map were partially or completely reworked to fit the custom questlines that were implemented. This happens more notoriously in the Darama continent map and lore, due to a complete rework of the city of Ankrahmun. This rework felt needed due to the many experiences from other 7.4 servers that indicate the spawns introduced along with the city of Ankrahmun are just too overpowered for a slow-paced server, allowing players to powergame in a faster pace than what we intend to be possible.

Our anti-cheat policies

Cheating will not be tolerated in Tibia Relic. We use advanced systems to detect potential cheaters. Actions like using multiclient, bots and macros will result in a permanent ban of the cheating account and also of every account accessed by the cheater. These harsh measures aim to dissuade people from cheating in any way, keeping the game fair to all players.

A summary of our features

  • 1x rates
  • RealOts engine
  • NA hosted (East Coast, so ping is also decent in both EU and SA)
  • No runes sold by NPCs
  • No bank system
  • No pay to win mechanics

  • Classic and custom lores or NPCs
  • Classic 7.4 core map plus several custom areas

About the Tibia Relic Team

Our staff is composed by two devs who have played Tibia together since elementary school. Both of us have regular jobs outside this venture, meaning Tibia Relic is more of a hobby than our main source of income.

Elao is a professional dev, who was responsible for most of the code-related work in Tibia Relic.
Elro is a public employee with a PhD in political science, and was responsible for most of the mapping, creature building, quests, books, NPCs and overall lore editing.

Our personal goals

We are here to keep enjoying the game, as we had for decades now, but this time we will do it from a different perspective — as admins — in a way we thought of trying many times in the past but we never had the time to dedicate for such a big project, as it always felt like it would only be worth doing it if we were able to ensure it had a quality level that fits our standards.

Finally, by the first months of 2025, we started organising ourselves to dedicate a few hours a day to this project, and bit by bit, we saw it taking shape, until we could finally see we had something special in our hands.

Today, we are very proud of what we built and very eager to share this adventure with the community. We invite you all to take part with us in this long journey that lies ahead of us, may it be exploring, grinding or fighting; making friends or foes (or both). All that matters is that you have a good time, and if you do, so will we!

Open Beta

Closed Beta has been online for the past couple of weeks and now we are officially ready to open it to the public!

The Tibia Relic Beta version is primarily a tool to verify the quality of our downgrade and to find potential bugs that might have gone unnoticed by the Devs during our prior testings. Some bugs may be very specific and are more easily found when experiencing the gameplay in a player’s perspective. Also, the Beta will also be a place to test our connection services and improve them as much as we can.

Therefore, we’d like to invite every interested player to join this beta and simply have fun! Explore the map, make hunts, fight other players and test mechanics at will. We hope any bugs found will be reported to the Staff so corrections can be made. You can register an account for the Beta through the ‘Register’ tab in our official website Tibia Relic (https://tibiarelic.com). Please note that our website is still under development, as our main concern for now was to make sure the 'Register', 'My account', and 'Download' functions were working as they should.

Keep in mind that, in order to avoid spoilers, this Beta version does not contain any books nor NPCs other than the ship captains and flying carpet owners. This is a measure to prevent players from fishing for potential spoilers that might give them an edge when searching for ways to access the custom areas of the game once it gets released. Also, there will be introduced several generic Assistant NPCs that will help you to model your character to your testing preferences. They will grant you experience, skills, equipment, spells and money when asked. Although runes will not be sold by NPCs in the official release, these assistant NPCs will sell them to you during this Beta, making it easier to set up potential hunts and other testing scenarios.

In summary, this Beta is NOT a display of our custom content, which we will keep hidden until the official launching. It is simply an open test to verify if all the game mechanics are working as they’re supposed to and also to identify potential issues in our client and connection system. Please keep in mind that any experience progress made by a character during the Beta Version will be reseted once the official launching happens and may be reseted a few times even during the Beta itself.

We plan to keep the Beta available until mid-January, as we plan to make the official launch by the end of the month, on January 23rd, 19:00 UTC.

Feel free to join the discussion and view additional information (including our official teasers) in our Discord server, which is our main communication tool at the moment.

Best regards, the Tibia Relic team.

Yea, sure..

I'm sorry you are not capable enough of building something on your own and I'm sorry I didn't reply you a few days ago.

oh another 1x "classic" server cool
Yes, but this server is not meant to be only a replica of tibia 7.4. Our main difference is we are releasing it with a lot of custom content, deep mysteries and rich lore that people should take months and even years to solve some of them.
This is a custom "classic" alternative for players outside Europe.

I invite you to try out after the launch.

So, after we dedicated our time to answer all your questions and help you unselfishly, you shamelessly decided to copy-paste all the content from our website (terms of use, game rules, and basically every other subpage content, including house pictures) and even steal our sprites, without a word. Every time I think one could not go any lower, an otland user comes along and proves me wrong.

The website is gorgeous though.
Is this Evil Mark's alt account?

You talk like you are the owner of Tibia. Miskeen your game is literary stolen from Cipsoft and you complain that others steal some text and pictures from your website?

I honestly have the answer why none of you creators will ever make it. You are all a bunch of entitled losers with 0 skills in coding, innovation or programming. If you were good, you wouldn't be working with Tibia. That's the "big" secret. There are some hidden gems here and there, they know who they are. Rest of you are just washed wannabe gamedevelopers.

Not defending this guys actions, I'm just throwing shit where it belongs.

OTS by definition are fan projects based on Tibia, and no one pretends otherwise. This doesn't mean that we should be stealing from each other within the community. Your "argument" is plain retarded. But above all, if someone dedicates their time to help you seflessly (even if it's minor thing), you should at least be a little more respectful to them than that. If you still decide to straight copy-paste their work, without a word, it only speaks for your lack of dignity and self-esteem. But honestly, I don't expect any of you to understand what dignity even means. If you could, you'd scam each other out of 10$ the first chance you got, and then tell yourself that it's right because "eVeRyOnE sTeaLs frOm cIpsOft".

I'm not here to "make it", show "coding skills", or to be "innovative". I am an old Tibia fan and I'm running a project for other old Tibia fans. That's what this forum exists for, you dolt. It's called otland - not gamedevland, or imamakeitland - for a reason, and your rant is totally irrelevant here.

By the end of March I sent you a DM asking for some guidance on building a server. You explained to me the difference between the leaked files and TFS.

Then I asked you if there was a map editor for leaked files. You answered there is none and pointed REC Decompiler that I could use to try to read the binary code.

Then in September I asked you for directions to display the speed in skills tab. You said I could get in touch with Lord. And I did. He was very friendly and gave me directions.

And that's it about "all of my questions".

Since I cannot edit my main post, I want to publicly apologize and thank @LordCompi for assisting me with the speed value in skills tab.

---

Regarding the website, the navigation and general structure were inspired by Tibiantis in the sense of aiming for a clean and readable layout, but this is structure is basically a pattern among Tibia servers in general. I don’t believe it goes beyond what you would find in 90% of OT server websites.

As for the Terms of Use, we were looking for a base template to start from and adapt later. The Tibiantis one seemed complete and well-structured, so it was used as a placeholder reference while the website is still under construction (as clearly stated in the thread). It was never meant to be a final or permanent copy, and it stayed longer than it should have. It won't be there by launch.

---

About the sprites we are not using any of the original Tibiantis sprites in-game. If you are saying because of the screenshot displaying dark walls and floors, this is a recolour of original Tibia sprite. I didn't think I would need to ask for permission to use recolour of the original sprites.

---

For other people saying I'm A, B or C, I'm not. This is my only account in OTLand ever. If I wanted to hide something from Kay or anyone, I would have created another account.

You asked me questions and I took the time to answer them, and then I even asked Lord (who is also part of the Tibiantis staff) to help you with your client issue, which he did. I never claimed that you owed us God-knows-what. It was all minor stuff, but we devoted our time to you purely out of goodwill, and in return, you copy-pasted all the content from our website, without asking. I'm not talking about structure similarity, I'm talking about all the text on every subpage, as well as the house pictures. That was not "inspired", you literally did ctrl+c ctrl+v from our website. It's not a "place holder", when you already publicly advertise your website, and nowhere it says where all that text comes from.

About the sprites we are not using any of the original Tibiantis sprites in-game. If you are saying because of the screenshot displaying dark walls and floors, this is a recolour of original Tibia sprite. I didn't think I would need to ask for permission to use recolour of the original sprites.
Actually, I downloaded your client to check it, only to find out that - again - you literally took the whole Tibiantis.spr file. It contains the original 7.4 sprites (up to number 6771), then there are our custom sprites (numbers from 6772 to 7804, plus nr 9999), and they are all included in your client as well. You only added some more of yours afterwards.

This is all in your client:
1fBK523.png

Doesn't seem like it's only "re-colored" sprites, which makes you also a liar... twice. Firstly, for saying in the starting post that "all custom sprites have been made exclusively for this game", and again when you said that you only took the "re-colored" sprites from Tibiantis.

Just to make it clear: this is not a "legal" case, and I never meant that. Obviously, I'm not going to sue you, I'm not even going to report it to otland, or anything, so technically you can do whatever you want. It doesn't mean that you should be doing it though, or that whatever you do is right. I'm just talking about dignity, like what kind of two-faced scumbag one has to be to act and justify themselves like that?

So, whether it's about fully custom sprites, or re-made cip sprites, or just text and pictures on the website, it's irrelevant (you took all of them regardless). Even if it was only about the "re-colored" sprites (which it is not), you could have simply asked if it would be fine to use them, especially since we talked before and I was always kind to you. But why bother asking, when you can just take everything and then play an asshole ("cuz we all steal from cipsoft!!"), right?

Were they, or were they not?

oh bob saget!, everytime i get the hype from a server, Kay comes and make me doubt if its worth to spend my time in it lol, first it happens when Ezz with Tibiara claim that it was original mechanics, now this, its not even in his region of playerbase, kek, everytime i see this guy in a post its always speaking shit of other developers, i guess nobody its worth of having a server just Tibiantis its the only good server ever created

Ok so I should have written every sprite you will see in-game was created exclusively for this game. My bad.

Still not true. You should have said: "all custom sprites, except for those that we stole from Tibiantis, but we only want to use some of them, and everyone steals from Cipsoft anyway, so it's cool".

The fact that you didn't want to put it this way (or you didn't want people to see it like that), and decided to cover it, shows that you somehow recognize that it's probably not the right thing to do. But you still decided to do it.

Already did in the picture, the rest is in your client. Don't assume that I'm going to play on your copy-paste server to find out what else you've stolen. What's even the point of including all of our custom sprites in your client if you never intended to use them, as you say? You don't make any sense at all.

edit: From what I've just heard, you didn't only copy the website content, pictures and sprites. You did exactly the same with the client features, all of our custom changes to items, quests and spells (everything is basically 100% the same), and... hell, you even copied some discord channel descriptions and my discord messages. Someone accused you of using chatgpt for the writing, but they were wrong - it appears that you are too lazy even for that.🤦‍♂️ Good luck with your "Open Tibiantis Server" project.
