Changing protocol version?

I want to know if this is possible, like an OT from version 8.1 to 8.50 for example, is it like changing a single row or alot of work or even possible at all?

I dont know what server do you have, so just download the newest version, then remplace lib /files/exe/config, import your configuration, then update the map version in RME.

Thing is, I got this perfectly working OT server for version 8.54 something I think, but I want it to work for newer clients aswell. Is it possible to fix?
