Another day, another step forward in building our Tibia 8.6 OTS on the Evolution map! As we continue fine-tuning the server, we’re focused on ensuring a smooth and balanced gameplay experience, refining key quests, and optimizing exp spots.

We’re still in the testing phase, and every bug report helps us get closer to the perfect setup. A big thank you to those who have already joined and provided feedback! Players who contribute by reporting issues will receive exclusive in-game rewards as a token of our appreciation.

Our goal is to create a medium-rate server where players don’t have to spend countless hours grinding levels but can still progress at a satisfying pace. We want to ensure that characters become strong enough to tackle most challenges in the game, especially when teaming up with a few other players. This balance will provide an engaging experience without making progression feel too slow or too easy.

Here’s a quick update on what’s been improved so far:

Coming to you with the first question: Do you think we should remove teleports? I believe it's a great idea, as the Evolution map is both engaging and beginner-friendly, encouraging players to explore its full potential. Of course, all new spawns and quests will be carefully added to enrich the experience.

About the pool, looks 50/50 so maybe just quests without teleports o_O
I'm in progress of making evo server and decided that exp places will be in depo but in order to start quest you will need to go to place x and talk with npc Y.
 
I find waypoints to be the best system available when combining a balance of exploration with convivence. You still have to explore and find each new area/quest without the hassle of having to walk back and forth all of the time. The thing is that teleports are generally a huge part of what makes an evo server an evo server. If you want a true evo then it would make sense to have teleports unless you want an evo rpg which is where a waypoint system would make more sense. The teleports could also take you to the general location from which you would still need to explore and find out where the quest/spawn is at.

Go through all of your map and add interactives in each spawn/area. Make it fun to explore and look for hidden secrets. All map areas have so many details and spots that can be made into interactives. Wells, cobwebs, trees, chests, crates, catacombs, paintings, etc... Make it so that each spawn has something worth exploring for.
  • "Click on a statue in spawn and receive 50 permanent hp points, 25 cap, 15 mana.
  • "Click on a bookcase and get teleported to a new area"
  • "Click on a painting and you find a hidden safe behind it. You have found key 1046. Used to open a door in a certain area.
  • Find a door while hunting with a sign "Only those with the power of the 12 Roman Gods can pass". Then across the entire map you have 12 statues scattered. Find and click on all 12 to get access to the door.
  • Hidden areas where you need to levitate.

If not already done, I would edit each real tibia quest you mentioned to add new challenges and twists. Add new monsters, bosses, different mechanics than normal, levers, keys, secret pick holes, clues in books, anything that will spice up the quests to make it fun to do again. Change and or add new rewards.

"All addon items are obtainable" maybe go through and change what items each addon needs to make it more unique? Also think about adding a system where you get bonuses for each full addon you have unlocked. This creates an incentive for players to try and collect all of the addons as well as adding a bit of an economy for players to sell/trade addon items.
Fast attack: usually this is too strong for knights/paladins while mage don't get much in return. With fast attack paladins and knights overall damage increases a lot and their skills will grow faster. You also need to balance as fast attack could make the game to easy. This could be fixed by buffing wands base damage as well as adjusting the rate of weapon skill growth vs magic level. There are many potential solutions.

I would suggest adding more custom content to appeal to a larger player base. The more the better, but I do understand balance becomes a concern. Add a fun money sink whether it's an upgrade system, gambling, some kind of character bonuses. Add some features that make the hunting game loop more exciting such as cursed chests, rare monster spawns, and fun bosses. An autoloot system is huge quality of life.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback in the recent survey. Based on the majority vote, we have decided to remove teleports. However, this does not mean long and complicated journeys to hunting grounds—Evolution map is small and beginner-friendly. To make navigation easier, we will provide a minimap on our website.

It's been a while since I last used Otland, and to be honest, I initially planned to post a new poll every day. Unfortunately, this is not possible.

Weekly Progress Update – We Keep Moving Forward!

Last week was tough, but that didn't stop us! Here’s what we’ve accomplished:

✅ Removed all teleports
✅ Added new NPCs and quests to access hunting/quest areas
✅ Introduced a task NPC
✅ Improved quest scripts

This week, our focus will be on refining the map. While we want to enhance the city, we aim to preserve the classic EVO atmosphere. More attention will be given to the surrounding areas and hunting spots to ensure a well-balanced experience.

To make navigation easier, we’ve divided the map into distinct locations. This should help players explore the world more efficiently.

At the moment, we are focusing on balancing the professions and continuously improving the map to provide the best possible experience for you.

Due to the current lack of engagement on the forum, we've decided to postpone the server launch to next weekend. This also coincides with my upcoming trip. Development on the server is ongoing without interruption, and I’d like to share some of the progress we’ve made:

✨ Added a minimap with a legend to the website.
🛡️ Introduced a weapon selection for knights at the beginning of the game.
⚡ Reduced cooldown times on spells.
⚔️ Implemented a minimum fast attack to balance the professions.
🔍 All quests and training spots have been thoroughly checked.
🛸 Added new NPCs to make traveling more interesting than just using teleports, and we’re also introducing other travel methods, such as magical objects that need to be used.
👑 Included both strong and weaker raid bosses, which drop addon items.

We still have an intensive week ahead of us. Below, I’ve attached a few screenshots.​
