You can't download from YouTube. It's called streamed video.

Collz, buddy, you forgot one factor: A torrent with malware won't maintain seeders. So torrents are partially self-governed.

They are, but only to a certain point. New torrents with 100% undetected trojans are not uncommon at all, if its a larger program and contains a keygen/crack then its not uncommon to assume its a false positive as well. They wont get hundreds of seeders, but they can definitely get a few hundred people before they're deleted. This thread is about music anyways, its highly unlikely any music formats would contain a virus.

Both of you say facts, so don't contradict each other LOL, there are some users that attempt to spread viruses via Torrents, but like Lessaire said Torrents with viruses or such will not be seeded by users(unless user is too dumb to spot a virus[has no antivirus/no common sense]) and on almost all torrent sites they allow you to see what files do the torrents download, also most, if not, all Software that downloads via Torrents let you pick which files of the entire bulk to download(unless it's a zip, rar or any kind of compressed file), basically all you need to download via torrent(other than the software its self) is common sense, sinse it's quite easy to spot an obvious virus.

I've started to use FrostWire. It's a good alternative for Limewire. I dislike torrents.
