Species Developer
Hello All!
I have been contacted countless times over the last year, by people wanting me to remake a species war server.
If you don't know what Species War is I will explain it.
Species War
Gameplay:
Species War was Hardcore PvP with experience with 4 teams facing off against each other in a never-ending war.
The original teams were:
Orcs - Had+1 extra max hp and had the best knights with custom spell Orc Smash
Promoted to Lizards
Humans - Had +1 max mana and had the best mages with custom spell Human Beam
Promoted to Barbarians
Elves - had extra movement speed and had the best Archers with custom spell Scout Shot
Promoted to Minotaurs
Dwarves - had faster hp/mana regen and all dwarves could use drunk runes and Dwarven Fire
Promoted to Monkeys
Mechanics
Outposts
Each team has a town, and much like a castle it is protected by gates that are closed to anyone outside the town.
You could open these gates by entering that team's outpost, and pulling the switch.
Then you can invade that team's town.
Kings
After invading a town, your goal should be to kill the king of that race.
The king would be sitting on his throne, and he does not move. The king heals very quickly so you would need a team to be able to make the king's health go to 0.
At that time, the King would resurrect with half health, guards would spawn to protect the king, and that team would get a warning message that their king was under attack. If the king healed to full health, it would disappear and be safe for the next hour. If the king was killed, the entire team belonging to that king would also die, and the team that killed the king would get a bonus for each player that died due to the king being killed.
Gold/Egg system
To make a better economy. Not only did you need gold to buy new items, you needed Eggs.
You could get Eggs from helping your team complete tasks, such as:
Killing Town Guards, Killing the King, Killing Promoted Players, Quests.
Using both Gold and Eggs you could obtain better equipment for your character.
Promotions
To make the server fun for a longer period of time. You could get a promotion (this would make your character start at level 100 again).
Promoted players gained less experience, but were much more powerful. Each Promoted Race and Vocation had their own special spell that cost 1 red egg. (A red egg was equal to 10 green eggs, so this was a big cost)
Commanders and Team Play
To try to make teams work together better, a random Promoted Player would get a new costume, and become the commander. Any player would be able to teleport to the commander using a lever in their temple.
Also, you could broadcast to your entire team using the !tell;/tell command. For example, if you saw a group of elves going towards your base or outpost, you could say "!tell Help! Elves are about to attack our base" and your entire team would see the message.
If enough people want Species War back, I will stop all my projects, and spend a week or two to put out this server. So Vote!
