I don't really see the problem here. One of your programmers were trying to edit some stuff within the files. Why do that have to be the hosting files? Why can't he test them himself, like private. Im sure you have a backup of the server before your programmer changed anything?
 
You can say what you want but fribben is more professional in hosting servers then ruuska
