This is my first ever submission on Otlands.net and hopefully it benefits all the server owners who constantly just get their donations chargebacked over nothing.
Now my tips to server owners have been my own personal dealings with them, in the last 5-6 paypal disputes ive had ranging from
Unauthorized Use(that's a tough one to win)
Item Not Received(another toughie)
First off, Call! them, provide to them you Web-Pin (available on their website) to validate you are who you say you are, and the phone number on your paypal and ofcourse your first/last name.
888-221-1161

6:00 AM PST to 8:00 PM PST Saturday and Sunday
(a)Now when i talk to paypal, i always start out with no bullshit. Explain you run a server that people play. People play the server, then after a while they like it enough to keep it on a dedicated host. Then explain that the claim is form a player who has donated to your server and that this is a "common thing among ot servers" and that you allow them to donate, and that you give them items as gifts specificially say "virtual items"... Now by this point if they havent already passed you on to a Investigations specialist, then ask for one.. The main person you talk to after verifying your webpin is useless to you.
Now once your talking to the investiongations girl, hopefully... and not to sound like a dick... that you get a girl. For some reason they are easily sympathetic, guys seem to not give a shit lol.
Now some of you have said a variation of this, so nows the time for my tips.
1) For normal disputes.. if the guy recycles this money on for example Cyntara, to Heltera.. (Eric Crimstock) for example.. (True Story) he chargebacked Red for who knows how much.. (found this out after) then he played mine, then charged me back a mont h or so after... I called paypal, explained he disputed all the charges and that he had just done this with another owner..
in this case i dont know where i won it because of the virtual items, or the fact he had disputed before over the same server and the invesigators common sense played in my favor.
2) Unauthorized Claims.. Now imagine they donate 25, then like 3 days later another 30, maybe another week its another 40... then a month later boom all disputes he quit.. go figure
So now call up paypal follow the startup of (a) until you at the investigator, and then tell them everything... then mention that every payment is tagged with a IP... and paypal can easily check to see if the created ip on the account/commonly used ip was the same ip as the disputed transactions... long story short.. you get paid. Depending on if its a credit card it will take longer because paypal has to go to the credit card and show them this as well.
With this i have stopped the chargeback of about 600$ easily?
Good luck.
