Don’t let people whose house was Deadantis dictate what Dura’s internal rules and the actions of its owners should be. It’s enough that their server has 140 rune makers and maybe 80 players, and they’re just jealous of Dura. At the end of the day, it’s a private Open Tibia Server—suggestions are welcome, but Torgowica requests are NOT, and they WON’T be!
Just do your thing. I played the last Dura and enjoyed it, but I won’t be joining this one since I’m a full-time employee, and it's a grind—not the kind of OT where you can play for just 2 hours a day. You have to put in effort.
Thanks for what you said. I wanted to let you know that Valor is a much faster pace. It's designed to require less grindy time investment. You guy will see soon. It moves at a brisk spicy pace! Valor is designed to be an Arcade Experience -- you'll soon see what I mean. I'm so excited, it's gonna be truly special.
To Great Adventure! To the Clarion Horn on the Rampart! To Bloodlust! To kill or be killed by deadly and worthy foes! TO FUN! I'M PUMPED!
Today Valor Launches!
The Launch Time is: 19:00 CET - 15:00 BRT - 13:00 EST!
Valor - An Arcade Game - Heroism and Bloodlust
Valor is not the same as Dura Classic, in fact it's not like any OT you've ever seen or played before. You're about to embark on a truly unforgettable experience. Valor's experience puts fun foremost. Like games we played when we we're younger -- hit 'Play' button and enjoy yourself for an hour. Just playing games and having fun each new game-screen. This is what Valor aims to achieve, all of this while not ever descending into something Cartoony, which so often happens on these more explosive high-rates -- gameplay that doesn't feel weighted and carry consequences, but feels hollow. The decisions, strategies, and skills you employ in Valor will matter but they will be greatly amplified to your triumph or devastation.
Tournament and Hall of Fame:
Although Valor is first and foremost about simply having fun it will contain within it a Tournament! This Tournament will culminate in a Hall of Fame where at the end of the Tournament Period there will be placements in various categories with Prizes. The following is the Categories and Prizes with the total Prize Pool being $3,500+ worth of Dura Coins, but the real Prize is being the Best:
Experience:
1 : 5000 Dura Coins
2 : 3000 Dura Coins
3 : 1000 Dura Coins
4-10 : 250 Dura Coins
11-20 : 100 Dura Coins
Melee:
1 : 3000 Dura Coins
2 : 2000 Dura Coins
3 : 1000 Dura Coins
4-10 : 250 Dura Coins
11-20 : 100 Dura Coins
Distance:
1 : 3000 Dura Coins
2 : 2000 Dura Coins
3 : 1000 Dura Coins
4-10 : 250 Dura Coins
11-20 : 100 Dura Coins
Magic Level:
1 : 3000 Dura Coins
2 : 2000 Dura Coins
3 : 1000 Dura Coins
4-10 : 250 Dura Coins
11-20 : 100 Dura Coins
a) The tournament is a great part of Valor, but you should not feel obligated to be a part of it. The goal of Valor is to have fun; the tournament is an extra-layer to that -- not it's primary design purpose.
b) These Dura Coins will be given to the Winners on the next Dura Tournament Server
c) There will also be the Categories of Most Frags & Largest Bank Balance, but since these can be exploited there will be no Prizes for it.
GAME ROLL
Rookgaard on Launch:
To deal with decongestion on Rookgaard at launch time Valor has the following in place:
2.2x Spawn Rate
Tons of Raids
Dura's Experience Quests
Walk Through Players (only on Rook)
Raid Game Roll
There will be only Rookgaard Raids on the first day of the server.
However in the following days as the server matures (population levels up) we will activate the according raids each day that the populace can handle. As an example the 2nd Day of Valor will already have 20+ new raids added to the Gameworld via Patch.
Spawn Rate Game Roll
Valor's Spawn Rate is 1.9x during the entirety of the server except during this first week where it will be 2.2x. Why? Since In-Game-Store-Items will not be activated until a minimum of 7+ days after the Game's Launch there will be no Global-Boost for Spawn Rate which will be set at 15% it's available. When this is active it would make the 1.9x Spawn Rate effectively 2.2x but in lieu of the Global-Spawn-Boost not being available we're making it so the first week will be 2.2x Rate.
In-Store Game Roll
There will be In-Store Items players can buy but only after 7+ Days from Launch. These Items are mostly, but not only, Global Boosts (which everyone will equally benefit from). Except for the Catch-Up Store Item there is no in-store item that gives more than a 10% advantage to a single player. The reason we're holding off from activating the In-Game-Store for the first 7 days is because we think overall it will allow for a more healthy and fun gameworld over the coming months.
Polling
We will not be doing any changes to the Game-Settings (except flagrant issues) unless it is carried by majoirty vote. We have polling in our Discord. We will be polling patches/changes for Valor after it launches in the coming weeks/months. If you'd like to be able to vote about what we should do: Discord Polling
The Tournament starts on Valor's launch and ends exactly 90 days after. At the end of the Tournament placements are locked in but Valor does not close as people will still be wanting to war as well as personal goals (full legendary set!) etc. etc.
The server itself will be kept open at least 6-12 months total, which will largely rely on player count. If people are still playing then why close it.
But Valor compresses 18 Months of Gameplay into 3 Months of Gameplay. When most people hit endgame slowly but steadily the player population will obviously go down, people wanting to play other games, or even wanting to restart. That is reality, every single OTServer and Game is like this. The only ones that are not like this are 1x's and that is not what Valor is -- Valor is a high-octane Arcade Experience.
Therefore at the lastest of 12 months and the earliest of 6 months, but likely somewhere in the middle due to player count Dura Valor will close. We hope you appreciate this transparency -- 90% of games are like this but they don't say it. We are.
Report Bugs:
This is in many ways a brand new game! You'll see what we mean soon enough! If you find bugs report them here: Discord Bug Reports
This really sucks that the server will be closed in few months... I'm soo disapointed :-( I've talked to few ppls and actually MOST of them don't know about the nature of this tournament server. Most of 7.4 players are hoping for slow paced long term and stable servers. For now, the situation with this server is actually very unclear. We demant some statements from Aris, how will it work - if ather this tournament, there will be another tournament server and after it ends, 2 servers will be merged or what? @Dura Aris
Yeah, why are you going to close server? And you keeping classic dura online? WTF
- Classic dura has ~250 players online at start, new serwer has almost 500. Right now classis server has ~50 players online, i guess new server after 1 year would have much more players and more streamers. So why u gonna close it after 1 year?
- New server seems to be much better and in my opinion people won't leave the server quick. The server rules seems to be fixed and that's good. GM is not allowing to use bots, GM is not banning people who lure monsters or strealing lootbags, GM is not telling us how much payment we can ask from enemies, GM is not doing giveaways, GM is not banning people for PK. Most of server bugs are fixed, hype is much bigger, there is much more streamers and players are permitted to sell characters or cc/runes legally. Much more players, better tibia 7.4 feeling, freedom and possibility to earn money.
In my opinion exactly because of lame rules the old dura died and it's nice to hear that you change some things to improve gameplay. The only one thing i don't understand is why you gonna close new server... better server!
So, as I mentioned, the new server in my opinion is much better than old dura and you should never close it! What's the point at closing server that will be more alive than classic dura? For example on that lowrate servers skilling takes a few months, so why should I start skilling for 3 months? To play next 3 months as knight and then you will close server? Getting good skills/mlvl, collecting money for good items etc. takes many months, but after all is done the player want to enjoy the progress for years. I mean player who prefer 7.4 custom lowrate servers.
dunno what he will do with "seasonal" server it will be alive as long as players keep playing eventually aris said that he could keep server alive and merge it later with new seasons
getting 170 skill isnt that hard it will be 8h per skill after 90 skill thats almost month of constant skilling to get really crazy skill that is the point of seasonal server
The point is that players wont keep playing since we all know its just seasonal... No reason to keep playing (especially on Dura which is still very hardcore server) if you know it will be closed anyway
N o n s e n s e!
And the worst thing is... Dura is well known for having amazing community, very safe and friendly - here its completely gone since its tournament server
10x more players but 10x less friends to make :/

i got your point knowing that server will at some point restart or die for new seasonal is demotivating however there was only one server which i played more than 4 months and that was tibiantis after one and half year i just sold my character even tho server was pretty alive i got burned out and wanted to just pk instead of lvling main char
dura seasonal atleast will let us enjoy content which you wouldnt even bother doing as it would take almost 2 years to get 170 skill for avg player on classic dura while its doable on seasonal without much effort
also dura classic is full pve server for rpg players you can play on both at once and train or runemake on dura classic while enjoying valor if u really looking for server which will stay basically forever
still valor should stay online even with 20 or less players actively playing and become testing ground for crazy game breaking stuff eventually closing once new season start and merge again after some time
Well Im not much of a powergamer and I've really really enjoyed spending half a year on dura, even though I've only reached 30+ lvl
To me, personally, its just a nonsense to play on a server that have its deadline written on. and the whole merging and staying online are just your speculations - and even if they would happen, it wouldnt change much, since there wont be even 20ppls there after the tournament and an exploited world
Dura could easily compete with medivia or tibiantis, imo Dura eats them on breakfest but.. But it makes silly decisions such as opening some sonsense 3month server instead of proper eu long term
Ive stoped playing dura classic because of lags and to little playerbase - most of europeans did the same or havent even started
hahaha so far I've talked to 3 players and they DIDIN'T KNOW its a tournament server and that it will be shut down.
I'm curious, did you try it? Or are you just assuming it's bad? I'm asking because I see your location is NYC, so we're same area.
I live in the Tri-state area and am on a GM character with maximum walk-speed and it's smooth for me. There's no step-lag. We've optimized it out the wazoo, our '120' ping is better than most duped '70' pings servers say they have.
But if you tried it and it's bad that's unfortunate, you and I must be on different routs/ISPs.
We demand (and kindly ask too) some statements from Aris, how will it work - if ather this tournament, there will be another tournament server and after it ends, 2 servers will be merged or what? Atm the situation is clearly unclear :-(
Hey so I'm sorry if things are unclear -- before the launch I posted on Valor's Website everything relevant to making a choice to play or not. The section you're looking for is Sunsetting Valor on the link I've provided. It's on the Front Page of our website. The very first Post.
Valor is not designed for permanence, in time you'll see what I mean from how the game plays out. It would not make any sense to make it permanent. It's an Arcade Game. It's a Game Mode where everything is amplified and cranked to the max. Like playing a Smash-Melee game or Street Fight 2 or loading CoD or Halo.
I really enjoyed how you touched literally every spawn in the game and added challenge to low-level hunts, like having valks, amazons, etc, in troll caves for instance. It really felt something special that I've never seen in any other OT.
However the tournament thing really makes me wonder if it makes any sense. Players from this type of server usually value a lot their time spent playing (hence RMT being a big thing), be it because they have the expectation that the server will be alive in the future or that they can cash out due to their characters being worth some RL money. Given there is no real actual reward (I don't see the appeal of rewarding points like that), I have the feeling population may plummet after a brief period, if players feel they are not getting value from their time spent playing. If there was a reward in real cash perharps it would make more sense and winning would have a meaning.

Moreover, I think rewards are too individualistic in a game that looks like team up should be incentivized. I'd suggest having some good rewards for guilds as well, so you reward group play rather than individuals. This may spike an interesting competition between groups which is one of the main reasons of interest in 7.4 servers (people enjoy competing for power / dominance).
It doesn't need to be all related to PvP, could be related to PvE mostly, so you reward guilds that achieve quests and other stuff.
Example:
Big rewards for the guild with the highest average level
Big rewards for the guild with most quests completions
Rewards for the guilds with the least PvP deaths (who is able to keep peace?)
Rewards for the guild with most high-level player frags (maybe not a good idea, but who knows)
Sky is the limit
Other suggestions regarding prize:
- It has to be in real money to really attract people. It could be % based on how many premium sales you made, so the more popular the server gets, the higher the rewards and it can become a snowball. Players that buy premium will feel like they are investing to get some return, not a complete waste of money (as server will die later).
This is one of the only non trash p2w servers with giga spoofing like baiak wearetibia and shadow illusions. Also not corrupt GM like shadow illusions where they ban people for no reason and give op items to polack friends.
