What is RetroTales?
RetroTales is a custom rpg server designed to capture the nostalgia of 7.4 - 8.0. The gameplay mechanics are based on 8.0, while our map is a unique blend of 7.4 - 8.0 sprites, while also using custom sprites that we think fit the old school theme.
Our goal is to offer an immersive, old-school experience.

Experience Formula Rework
We've reworked the experience formula so that the required experience per level is reduced up to level 60.

Task System with Task Bosses
Our task system stands out with two unique features:
1. It tracks each individual kill and adjusts gold and experience rewards accordingly.
2. Task Bosses – These tasks provide 50% less gold but reward you with a scroll. The scroll functions as an exiva, guiding you to the boss's lair.
Rewards include 30% of the monster's experience as XP and 5% of the monster's health as gold (reduced to 2.5% if it's a task boss).

Daily Bosses
We currently offer a few different daily bosses ranging from level 50 to 120.
Each boss gives a flat amount of experience upon killing it for every player that participated. (You will need 1-4 players to enter the boss room)
You will also recieve a parcel in your inbox with a your reward from the boss
These bosses will help compensate with the 1x loot rate and give the player a helping hand with the economy.

Crafting System
To add a bit more flavour we've introduced crafting.
Ingredients range from creature products you can obtain through skinning or staking to rare items dropped by task bosses or rewarded by daily bosses.

I came across a Tibia server claiming "no resets," but there are several red flags that make it seem far from genuine. For starters, the Discord only has 139 members, yet the server supposedly has 700 characters. That doesn’t add up Tibia players use Discord, and you’d expect a lot more activity, Bet half of them are Rune makers ready for bot.

The website and layout feel like a generic “ready-to-run” package, with no originality to set it apart. The advertisement is poor like you dont want players at all to join, its sad nothing explained, showed couple of screens of system we all seen past 15 years , which shows little effort or creativity. What’s worse, I got banned just for mentioning that I’d seen the admin on the OTA Discord nimbus must have been helpfull. That kind of overreaction doesn’t leave a good impression on their moderation approach.

With a practically dead Discord and questionable transparency, it’s hard to take this server’s claims seriously. If they want to succeed, they need to focus on building trust, originality, and a strong community ssilencing criticism won’t get them there.

Also, nice job with the Otland logo. ChatGPT can paint, right? The project feels rushed, with mismatched details between the ads and the website. Sure, a lot of effort went into the setup, but is it really worth ? Also you claim no resets but forgot to delete changelogs from 6 months ago, nice buddy

Our Discord isn’t dead we’ve had over 30 messages in the last 24 hours. Building a community takes time, but we’re making steady progress and have a supportive group so far.

As for the “Nimbus Bot” claim, I have no idea what that’s about. The only thing I’ve posted on OT Academy is our server ad, nothing more.

The changelogs you mentioned are from our beta phase, where we were transparent about it from the start.

You were banned from our Discord because we don’t tolerate baseless accusations. We’re here to keep things respectful and enjoyable for everyone.
