[USA] Mookvu 10.10 100% custom RPG - OFFICIAL START!

I'm astonished! As soon as I get back from vacation to see such an awesome looking server, this looks so much fun :D I can't wait to try it!
 
after playing a little bit here is my first feedback:

* Dunno if the unlimited pots is a bug or it's intended but for me it kills the rpg feeling, people can just spam pots and gain massive mlvl this way. no fun in just spamming pots and spamming the same spell all over.

* rewards for instances seem a tad high. 3cc for the lvl 15 instance seems insane. Would love to see a higher value for money.

* Like the fact that items can be dropped as special,rare,legendary;demi-god ,etc

* some pieces of the map seem a bit random with a lot of stuff just spammed.

* lots of grammar errors + stairs that won't work. --> and no way to report by sending bug reports... you should make it so that everyone can report bugs ingame during the beta, this will help a lot with finding new bugs etc.


Conclusion:
+1 for making a custom map server BUT for me this is far from 100 percent complete. Do not rush it and make sure everything is working properly before u release it. And when u plan on releasing it: Advertise!!! (this is where most custom servers fail)

@hehemidu ; Yes, the potions were bugged, it said that it should be removed but it didn't... I re-wrote the whole script anyway, now it works 100%

As for the instance reward, it's a random item... I won't tell ya all the rewards you can get but it's from 10-->15cc now or you can get a random item ;)

Now to the map bugs, as we have plenty of those... Our mapper (and owner...) was out all day & I can't map on 10.10, actually I can't map at all :p so if i was to try and "fix" this it would result in a FATAL OTBM ERROR :(

& finally to the report bugs ingame command ; I'm working on it, once I'm finished I will post in our news

Ehh I was to excited lol it's a nice start but needs A LOT of work.
*would be nice to have more in depth customized monsters. I know there are some custom monsters, but it would be nice if most monsters had a different name, loot, spells, etc..

  • I don't think there is any custom spells, but I'm not sure. If there isn't you should really add some for each class.
  • more custom items, like I know there are custom items but there are still lots of regular bland items. You should really edit all the normal tibia items in some way, or at least the level requirement for some items.
  • all types of quests, tasks, a lot more NPCs in general would be cool.
I really like the iron ore drop. I love features like that because it makes it exciting! But you need to work on it cause it gives trash SO much and on top of that only 60% chance to even work. The small wish lamps is alright, it either gives 200 gold or 250 exp which is nice at low levels but later on it's like meh. You can also get the upgrade one which is better, but would be nice if there was even better ones! Also maybe add in a few really rare items the lamp can give, would give it more suspense haha. The ring of mastery is cool but it's just 1 ring which is boring and easy to find lol. I really hope you add a lotttt more rings with a lot more effect :D It's nice how it won't show in the body which forces you to always open it, but there is some bug cause somtimes it does show it, unless it's supposed to be like that.

I don't think I'll be playing it for now, no motivation. Catching up the higher levels is going to take to long cause they had the advantage of unlimited pots. So I guess I'll wait until after Beta ^_^ but here's some ideas/suggestions.

  • More custom items, monsters, features. Add in custom spells.
  • Quests of all sorts.
  • Lot's of secrets, hidden stuff, riddles, challenges.
  • Spell scrolls which will teach you a spell of some sort.
  • More random things monsters can drop cause that's what makes hunting fun.

You are not able to put blank runes in your hands to make runes, also after fixing the potion bug you use a whole stack of potions each use so i wasted 100 strong mana potions on one use. Also things like Crystal Boots and shimmer wand and rod cannot be sold in shop.
 
I'm just wondering what the chance of getting a giant spider out of a spiders nest is. I've done about 10 laps at the Wailing Widows, which equals to 30 * 10 = 300 spider nests, only had 3 gses so far. It's getting quite dull at the moment haha.

Also, I heard it's possible to get attack speed enchantments for your weapons, anyone care to explain how?

@Zasranets ; Thanks for taking yourtime to write all of this btw,
the custom monsters are deep down your hunting area, the one that says "start here", then when you go out of the border of the city you're going to realize that there are a lot of monsters that you haven't even saw yet... You need to play a lot here to see the monsters... As for the spells we wanted to keep it like rl tibia, Most people like rl tibia war, so we decided to keep it like that (once we update our client pvp will be enabled)
As for the loot, it's differs from each monster, so if you're hunting wasps all the time you don''t really have much chance... You still got a lot of things to do in this server, a lot of instances & quests too but you gotta find em, either outside the city's borders or deep in the hunting place...
As for the secrets & riddles, we have plenty of those... You guys haven't seen 40% of thiss server yet... Also some events are going to be released once we update our client :)


@newtybooty ; I'm aware of that, you arealso not able to put a torch in your hand, it's because of our client... We are running some tests, once we're sure that everything is smooth we update our client to 10.34, hopefully that will fix that... As for the potions, I ran some tests & It only uses 1 potion so idk what ur talking about...



@mich3208 ; the script generates it, you can either have like 5 spiders at each try, or have it so "dull" as you're saying, it's totally based on luck :)
 
So from my point of view:
Custom monsters all seem super strong. But are they really worth it?
I have killed a bunch of stuff like the Marid'Efreets which do 1000+ combos, but they don't drop anything.
Then there are things like vampire overlords, which are about as strong, but give decent loot as good as always.
Some more balance in that, or the confirmation that all strong monsters can drop good, rare items, would make me feel at ease.

Aside from that:
- Addons and mounts. Those things can get quite expensive and it's up to you to guess what they might actually do.
So I hope there will be all benefits available on the homepage, it's really no fun to have to try them all.
- Invisible: Monsters like the gold nooby blobs should see you when invisible. It also should not remove your mount bonus.
- Mounts: It is quite annoying to have to relog every single time you logout/get kicked/die with the mount.
E.g. you have mlv 10. A window queen adds +5. You will have mlv 15. Now you die, login with the mount and have mlv 10. If you dismount, you will have mlv 5. And will get a message saying "You do not have enough skill to use this" upon casing a spell. That can kill you, just like being unable to attack after login in.
- Iron ore: Really like those things, but would rather see the rewards more in balance. As in, make the ranger cape not be worth 60k and therefore get items more often. It is just a gamble for money later on (or for AS gems if they really exist).
- Lamps: Pretty cool, but kinda worthless later on. Add more upgrades with level requirements, so it won't be abused.
Aside from all the stair bugs, that's all from me, could add some more items to the shops as well though, since there are quite a few items they won't buy.
 
@Sorelio ; I will add an addon & mount bonus page soon, I'm working on it (im not that experienced in php but I'll give it a try anyways), so that solves the addon & mount problem that you have, as for the dismount problem, it will be fixed when we upgrade our client :),

Lamps are made for low levels, they make it more interesting for low levels & we're working on new items like that lamp for high levels, but it will be very rare :), now stair bugs need to be reported using our !report command so we see the exact location, because we can't go around testing all the stairs in the game... :/
 
Alright, since I've been playing pretty much from the start of this beta, guess I'd make a lil' organised post of things I'd change or suggest to be added. I'm sorry if any of this has been said before, if so credits go to the one that posted before, just posting all my thoughts I have at the moment.

Party

I'm not totally sure if this is implemented, but from what I have heard and experienced this is supposed to be a 'team' server (i.e. have atleast a knight to tank up the damage, and use mages/paladins to deal damage without getting hit). This being the point of the server, I'd say give people that play in teams (and thus using party's) some benefits, such as extra experience (in the way real tibia does it now), extra loot chance etc.

Also, have the party message show for everyone in the party, not just the one that kills it. I like to see all the loot that has been looted, not just the once I last hit. (For some reason it seems to work like this for me o.o)

Crafting

For now, all you can do is add armor or attack to armors/shields etc. and weapons. However, stuff like %hit chance, %attack speed and %extra range you're not able to modify. I think adding this, and having a limit on it so you aren't able to make them attack faster than the best items you can loot (I heard that the best items have 500 ms attack speed, so you could cap the crafting modifiers are 1000 ms for example), would be a nice extra to the server. At this moment, stuff you get from quests/instances (weapons most importantly) seem kind of useless since the attack speed is at the regular 1700 ms. Because of this, it's usually better to use a weaker weapon you looted that has the attack speed bonus and add the maximum amount of + attack rather than using a very nice/rare weapon without any attack speed.

Just used 50 iron ores at the crafting myself, got 1 pair of blue legs, an ethno coat, 2 plate armors, 10k gp, 25 sds, 25 uhs, 2 elvish bows, some ratana's/steel axes and a dark helmet. Seems quite balanced to me so that is fine, however wouldn't it be nice if the items you get from crafting would have the posibility to be rare, legendary or even demi-god? Right now, ANY weapon you get out of this is quite useless. None of them have anything added to them, and since you can't add %attack speed nor hit chance or %attack, it would be nice if these were randomly generated.

Iron Ores

The iron ores seem quite nice, though it would be nice if you could higher the chance of getting items (or maybe have a chance to get better items) by using multiple iron ores at the same time. For example, with 1 iron ore you can get the rakatana (or something, not sure how it's called, the lil' sword) and with 5 iron ores you can obtain the rangers cloak. By doing this, the sellingprice of 60k isn't as ridiculous anymore, and you can give people a bit higher % chance of getting items, without them having to use less iron ores to get the items.

Rare-, legendary-, demi-god-, etc.- items, as well as iron ores and lamps

From what I understood, every monster has the same amount of chance to drop a modified item, iron ore or lamp. However, this doesn't seem quite right to me. Why would you have an orc have the same amount of chance to drop iron ores or a legendary weapon as a dragon lord? Especially regarding the normal items, such as bows, crossbows, iron ores and lamps this seems quite odd. I guess you could either add different tiers of monsters (wispateers dropping rare bows only, then have monsters like hunters drop legendary bows, and add bows to existing monsters as extra loot for the demi-god items) OR higher the drop chance of legendary/demi-god items for stronger monsters such as Dragon Lords and Wailing Widows.

As for the iron ores, maybe the stronger monsters in higher tiers (DLs, Hydra's, Warlocks and such) could drop more ores at the same time, perhaps a chance to loot 1-5 or 1-8 iron ores. This would make them more worthwhile to hunt, since there aren't many reasons to hunt certain monsters at the moment except for getting experience. The same could be said for lamps, have them drop more often in stronger monsters, or have them drop different lamps that yield more experience/gold/maybe even items if lucky.

Tasks

First of all: please fix Grizzly Adams, don't make him able to leave his house, it's damn annoying to find him out in the open.
Also, you are able to start and complete different tasks at the same time, however when you finish 2 (I finished dragons and minotaurs before turning any of them in), you will only be rewarded for 1. Would be nice if that got fixed, it's nice that you're able to do different tasks at the same time.

The tasks that are given out at the moment are quite a small amount. I guess you could quite easily add a lot more tasks with different monsters. However, this isn't the biggest turnoff, the rewards are. 150 minotaurs only give 1k gp less than killing 200 dragons. This makes it so that dragons are quite useless to task on, since you can kill atleast 300 minotaurs in the time you can kill 200 dragons, giving you 4k extra gold and 1 extra chance stone to upgrade your weapons/armors with. I think the most fun thing to have at the tasks is the reward system you have at the level 15 instance or the dragon lord tower. Have the tasks give random rewards every time you complete them, and have dragons give better rewards than minotaurs or orcs.

Adding more tasks such as dragon lords, wailing widows, stronger orcs, those demons you find north of Grizzly Adams etc, and have them have different and better rewards than the easier tasks.

Another thing that could help is have people chose the amount of monsters they want to kill (e.g. You get the choice between 100, 200, 500 or 1000 dragons, each amount granting you different (random) rewards, the more you kill the more and/or better rewards you get).

Instances

Instances are quite nice, the small level 15 one is fun to do at the start and gives some nice rewards. However, there are a lot more options for instances on the map at the moment. I explored all of the orc cave (the level 50 door included), and it would be nice if that had some kind of instance/quest. Without anything like that, the place is completely useless, since there are a lot better places to exp and loot stuff at. Same goes for the minotaur place, explored the whole cave and didn't find anything interesting besides a lot of minotaurs. Dragon Lords south of town, same story, all it containted was a single demon behind a level door. I think there are a lot of options to add (hard) instances to have fun in with teams. Ofcourse, I probably have not explored close to 25% of the map, but this kind of looked like extra opportunities to me.

Exhaust

The exhaust on healing feels a little bit too high at the moment, it seems to be the same as the exahust for attack spells. I'd suggest lowering it a bit, it's quite annoying at the moment.

Launching the actual server

Whenever you can set a certain time to launch the server, do so. Delete this thread, make a new one, put a counter on your website and announce it atleast 3 days prior to actually launching it. By doing this, you will attract more players at the start for sure. This server deserves a lot more players than it has in this beta, and I'm positive it's possible to get those players if advertised well.

This is all I could think of at the moment, if more pops to my mind I'll make sure to notify you all.

As far as everything else, I will take my time so i dont mess anything up in the fixing process. Just taking 1 thing at a time.. I wont be adding ANYTHING else to server till ALL of this addressed!!

The exhaust, i cant do anything about because the revision i used before kinda sucks...

We closed the server for maintenance, we are updating our tfs to 1.0 so we can finally close the BETA stage once and for all...

Can you put the old one up until then i was enjoying my time on it chatting with some decent people and hunting with daniel :| i miss it already and it was only 1 hour ago.
