Reason why Open Tibia community is so dead is because when you join a server you expect some challanges something that changes your point of view and something else that most the games lack off (economy).
Trading is a huge thing in-game and a lot of people just don't understand how to manage such thing, it's actually really complex to create a system that makes people trade for real in a game, it's not like we all want to go back to the (rune economy) in those 7.X servers and we also hate that money just stacks up in our bank/depot whatever because money is just used to buy runes/blessings/travels.
MONEY! So they say... Is the root of all evil TODAY! Yes guys, pink floyd said that!
If the server has no root, there's no evil inside it, if the server is not evil, people won't be addicted to it. S I M P L E
NoPay2Win server is something people must think of, nobody wants to join a server where some guy payed 100USD when it started and it's already killing all the players online because he's kind of like a god. nononono, and people think opentibia servers are some kind of moneymaking machines, I mean for real, what the actual hell guys get a freaking real job it's not that hard! You can even make more money gathering foil on the streets and selling them by kilos.
Innovation is something we need, mobile client someone posted on the forum and maybe invest on a damn webclient. That's game changing.
The point is that when you do invest a lot of time in a project and you actually know what's the right path for the project, like avoiding those download and play distros, making it unique and attractive, addiction is something you must work on.
Making a server is like making a business, a homework, anything to be honest, if you expect to be something outstanding you have to put tons of effort on your ideas, people most of the time download stuff and expect that their server will be full of people in no time because whatever reasons.
You have to push it to the limit really go nutz and lose your mind when you're up to something, else, you're not really up to it.
Listen up everybody, the key of success in opentibia is making your game the most addictive game over all the other ones available.
I mean I just cant understand why people dont make some research of the open tibia community, there's data avaialable to be scrapped from serveral websites, like what's the most played version on 2020? what are the main features of the most played servers? what's the most common errors of the lowest populated servers? what feature is not available in any server? what do you have in your mind to grab all of those questions and make out something?
We all know guys that those servers available that have like 1 or 4 players are only webshells/scanners/botnets freely available for any infosec script kid and I guess nobody has an issue with that because I saw a few days ago someone in this forum advicing someone else to open ports 443/80/3306.
That's disturbing.
And it's more disturbing to see that ALMOST ALL THE FREAKING SERVERS AVAILABLE HAVE THE
https://domain/system FOLDER AVAILABLE ON THEIR WEBSITE THAT'S JUST UNACCEPTABLE I MEAN WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??!?!?!!?!?!??!
