I'm sorry, remind me again which project you are hosting where you have accomplished this? I'm curious specifically your solution for getting players to accept additional intrusive ToS agreements allowing for capturing additional diagnostic data or which explanation you gave for running the client in administrator. Oh and what did you tell them when all your fancy anti cheat methods have consequently triggered their antivirus?

Random hate aside, everything else regarding our game is doing quite well, the bot issue is effectively managed, and people are having fun. We broke again the top online count today @1391 players! Imagine that? Ignore the stormclouds trying to block the beautiful rainbow that is SoE; we have something for everyone!

there were numerous privilege escalation and RCE exploits in eac history (for other kernel acs too) though
these kernel acs and avs are doing very sketchy things nowadays like patching and hooking kernel functions and being rootkit-like instead or even bootkits like valorant's vanguard, i bet microsoft will take a deep look on whats behind the scenes with kernel stuff after CrowdStrike catastrophe because having software on your pc that has LIMILTLESS permissions is no go

but indeed kernel-based anticheat like eac is pretty straightforward solution also an overkill when you can detect these bots easily from user-mode and not hiring single gm for 'manual detections'

Pvp'ing 1v1 or in smaller groups feels good, there is no DOMINANDO GUILD destroying everyone entering a spawn as the respawn rates are insane and you can fit into spawns with multiple people somewhat easily. also i dont know how the hell they did it but this server has some of the most peopleful people on it ive met. they ask to split spawns and stuff rather then just calling their high level friends for a cleanup

I don't want to be bias about which war movie is a good one from our players but I can tell you there are many examples of well made war clips on YouTube now just by searching the SoE / Souls of Elysium keywords. If you want current state of things I would recommend tuning into one of our streamers but things are barely getting started so may take a moment to 'heat up', war wise.

The sad reality of this server is that it allows the use of bots under a "if I catch you, you get banned" policy. Unfortunately, many players using bots are still active at their PCs, with built in alarms, and panic key there is no way of catching it ,Thanks to one of the players for providing the screenshot. This botting software, a paid bot developed by Rafal Ch., works on most 7.4-8.0 servers.

I’ve tried fighting against botters, but sadly, it seems pointless. Perhaps a partnership with Rafal could be considered? You could even add the bot to your server's download section, as manual players appear to have no place here. Only a select few seem to face bans.

For reference, the bot costs $8 for 14 days. I managed to preserve this information from ex-members of my guild, who recommend it to every new player joining them at SOE (mainly for chicken feather and fishing grinds).

So, if you’re a manual player, keep in mind that the admins can't—or won't—stop this software from working on their server. It’s effectively a fully botted RIFbot OTS, Adding cam system that upload automatically their gameplay for others to be visible could prevent boters from botting, since the evidence would be there, will this ever be considered i suggested this on the discord i hope you start being serious about this issue.

"Yeah, quite active server, but the reality is there are virtually no servers out there worth playing. I was playing on Rook, but competing with botters was pointless, so I ended up x-logging. The server isn't going to ban botters who donate significant amounts of money—it's like being a pimp with a mouthy prostitute you can't let go because she brings in the cash, right?

And admins ban Jere for botting. 2-3 hours of drama going in discord, Jere stream etc. Jere trash talk server, admins. Later he gets unbanned, tells on stream to the people and viewers that accused him of botting to "kys irl" and that he will never play there. Admins apologised.
Next day begins, Jere is back without vod and playing like nothing happened xD
Gotta love this community that keeps supporting such behaviour

Any time you have a streamer involved issue the conspiracy theories begin to run rampant pretty fast. The reality of that situation was a player was banned by a gamemaster, the player appealed which then sends the case to the entire team for review; after reviewing the submitted evidence we concluded it was not evidence of unofficial software use and the player was unbanned. Gamemasters aren't expected to be perfect at their job but they do the best they can with the tools available to them. The purpose of having an appeals process protects players from wrongful banishment as there isn't just one individual deciding the case but 8-10. I can tell you with 100% certainty player status in game, in a community, as a marketer, as a contributor, amounts spent, none of this is taken into consideration in either banning or unbanning someone. We don't look at it, we don't know of it in most cases and it's just not a factor. Stating anything otherwise is fake news.

To touch on the other point the botting is a problem and the days of the cat and mouse chase will be coming to an end. Going into this next year we are going to be heavily focused on removing the ability of players to succeed in cheating in the game. Details on how we will accomplish that will be posted in the coming days.

It would be a standard procedure of ours to jail any character caught in the act of intentionally killing themselves repeatedly in short succession to investigate the situation. Granted, the incident you mentioned is over 2 years old and there has not been any like it to my knowledge since.. a great deal more thought & careful consideration occurs before any staff involvement action these days. We would ask to write previous failures up as learning pains.

it wasnt first and last time you protected jere from himself or other people like liderus (e.g getting liderus banned for connection to makers thing you didnt do for other people back then)

I've played every SoE server. Definitely one of the best OT's if not the best. Love the mining, chests, demonic and diabolics of every creature, and amazing gear + attributes. Excellent devs who are actively enhancing gameplay. Now the cam system removes cheaters even better. They take best player suggestions to so it adds a very nice element to the community.

One of the best seasonal OTS. Great job guys! Every vocation is totally viable and at least magical vocations are usable without having to RMT for runes and there is no stupid ass rune-making in instance based trainers... Also no bullshit like 3 rune makers per account allowed.
